Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

Taylor Shumaker had a really tough day yesterday at the Atlanta tournament. She went 2-6 with a couple runs scored, a couple rbis, and no home runs. That's the worst day she's had since the beginning of June. I am not making this up.

 

Anyone know who the first one was?

 

Hope there's not much too it but saw some posts about keegan being injured again..... hard not to think the major injury was never fully recovered from. Would be about right that we finally get our star class and stuff like this starts happening.

 

All I know is she was dressed out for Dukes' games in Atlanta yesterday.

 

USA scratched it out in bottom of 8 after loading bases....Hannah Flippen singled in the winning run. Flippen also got robbed in the first from a two run bomb to center with the center fielder robbing the home run. Great pitching and defense on both sides. Poor hitting on both sides although USA had a bunch of shots that were caught by great Australian defense.

 

Will be interesting to see what England does with Corrick for our game tomorrow. Assuming they beat Ireland later today, which should happen, then their game against us is almost meaningless as they would be in the finals even with a loss. Their only other game tomorrow is a gimme against Botswana. Botswana is as bad as you would expect. They could hold Corrick for Saturday.

 

Was on Twitter last night and I was just fooling around with an FSU fan saying that we were going to get Kelly Maxwell. So we were just goofin back and forth. I then said that I had a feeling we'd get one of the 3 (Maxwell, Vawter, Keeny).. and this guy Jason@jasonrhea1 (voice of sooner football‍ never heard of him) jumps in and tweets, (replying to my tweet about getting Maxwell) "I’ve had heard the same about Vawter. I’m going to be so jealous when you guys land both of them." Take with a grain of salt... he could have been just foolin'. But it definitely was nice to read. Lol

I would say Lineup is shaping up the best since 2016.... Very strong lineup.. Go Gators!! Also, third assistant should be the batting coach.. someone that knows what they're doing.. I don't want Aric near these big guns.

 

I thought the question was "who was the only other Gator to win it"?

 

The biggest question was how is Tim going to get playing time for all of the six incoming (since both Keagan and Ava want to play two-way) freshmen and keep them happy. Now make it eight.

 

Great question. 8 plus Reagon, Skylar, Kaila, Kendra and Baylee = 13. I guess that is a good problem to have. Maybe?
