There were lots of stories… about the same athlete… over and over. That tells me the actual cases are rather isolated. Doesn’t mean there aren’t others, just that it’s extremely rare. Realistically it only matters at high level competitions and if they start “winning”. Like if a trans person starts dominating (presumably because of some male hormones), that makes competition an issue or could possibly make some sports unsafe…but those are the outliers and those are the isolated cases that get harped on by the social issues warriors. Otherwise who gives a $@&.??? The sports bodies can figure things out where competition matters. When you use it as a political wedge issue, you get morons like this guy… Man banned from school after accusing 9-year-old of being transgender at a track meet: reports
If that's what happened, then I think it's wrong. But haven't colleges often taken a dim view of athletes speaking out about team and university policies? Either way, that's not the thing as was claimed - that associations were afraid to ban trans athletes because 'the left' would cancel them.
Not when it has to do with female students having their privacy violated. Can you source anything that shows colleges "often take a dim view of athletes" if they speak out about feeling sexually violated?
But then right after, as you always do, you minimized their situation by falsely claiming colleges frown on people speaking out when they feel sexually violated. Perhaps Penn State football with Sandusky is your idea of what colleges do in these situations, but I don't think that is the case at all for the vast majority of colleges. If what's being reported and alleged is true, it's a criminal act and the college would then be complicit in a criminal act in this case. This one has the potential to go way south on you very quickly. Might be a good idea to abstain.
LOL. They got threatened if they spoke out. Simple as that. It's an example of what can happen when people speak out. Colleges only have a dim view on athletes speaking out when it doesn't align with what the University thinks. They told the female swimmers to shut up and swim.
Yeah, minimizing to any degree female students speaking out about feeling sexually violated is not a good look or idea.
So that Trans cyclist that won a race by 4 minutes now will have to compete in the "open" division. Good compromise. Women should compete with women. Trans athletes can have their own division. Easy as that. Issue is they did it after this and not before. Cycling event alters category policy after furor over transgender competitor's win in women's race
Not sports related, but the Season finale Season 2 of Somebody Somewhere on Max is my idealist artistic depiction of simple peaceful coexistence and personalized passive acceptance of gender nonconformity in a red state world, where you just meet people where they are without considering any larger significance of “accepting” larger than simple kindness to another deserving human in the moment.
Insults...ad hominem...shocking on this forum. Thanks for the answer. Besides I haven't seen a biology class since 79-80 school year at Boca Ciega. My grad and post grad degree are in the logistics field. Biology? Nah

Interestingly, in each case, the individual is referred to as "male." Sometimes, I think we make things more complicated than they need to be. Women's sports was very clearly carved out for females; that is what should be protected. It's not that nobody else is allowed to compete...it's that nobody else should be allowed to compete as a female. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
I'm on the ignored list of whoever brought this thread back up today so I can't see her post but I am guessing he/she is all thrilled and happy about this. Missouri High School Crowns Male 'Homecoming Queen'
Not sure about the other poster, but there are definitely a lot of outraged people in the Breitbart comments, and they're not about fairness in competitive sports. Also, I feel like perhaps the author is sexualizing the high schooler with this line, and I wasn't the only one who noticed it.
It’s not maga or far right or a bunch of dumb guys or even Dear Leader that have to sacrifice, it’s women. They’re the group that is treated unfairly. I haven’t delved into but are the rest of the competitors celebrating this? Or their opinions don’t matter and it’s politicians we listen to? Transgender cyclists dominate Illinois women's race, sparking concerns about fairness
Completely agree. It’s ridiculous what is becoming more common in women’s sports. If you speak out against it you are labeled transphobic. Unreal.
