Of course. The entire post was meant to be a talking point as to why Biden is bad ( so you must vote MAGA).

I’ve lost loved ones to dementia. People like me have long comforted themselves with the notion that it turns people into something they are not. But I’m afraid that it only serves to strip away the filters and reveal people for who they really are.

That must be so difficult. Your memories of who they were (and the relationship you had with them) and the person you are taking care of (and still love) now.

No need to make anything up. Your team is a wealth of partisan disinformation. If you don't recall the Hillary health comments, maybe you need a memory evaluation. Have a good day.

I do recall health concerns about Hillary which seemed valid, but it was nothing to the magnitude of what we're witnessing with Biden right now. It was a side note for Hillary. It's front and center for Biden. I can't think of any other current world leaders of significance who look like a zombie on a stage. The comparisons to Hillary, Trump, Reagan, whomever are dumb.

Meanwhile back in the real world, Turkey has agreed to vote for inclusion of Sweden into NATO; the President's and his team's diplomacy with NATO has been a masterpiece since the invasion of Ukraine. With Trump, Putin knew he was dealing with a weak Neville Chamberlin-like leader; now, with Biden, he is getting his butt handed to him; who would of thought of Finland, with their 800 mile border with Russia, and now Sweden joining NATO. Go USA.

Ironically it is Russia, whose primary goal in Europe is to cause the dissolution of NATO, that has driven Finland and Sweden into NATO’s fold.

We all aspire to live at least to the age of 80 (as long as in relative good health) and if I am fortunate enough to do so, I would hope to be to be as sharp mentally as Joe Biden is now.

That said, Joe Biden is simply not mentally sharp enough to fulfill the responsibilities that come with being President and to be honest, he was probably too old the last few years.

And this has nothing to do with dementia but instead the reduced cognitive abilities that come with normal aging. Biden would be 86 at the end of his second term and it is ridiculous to think we would have a man in his mid-‘80’s leading this country.

If Biden is the nominee and is able to win the general, and I think that’s more likely against Trump than other Republicans, Biden could always step down after I suppose. I don’t think anything would require him to serve all four years.

I get that getting older makes things tougher but no one who works with Biden is saying he has diminished competency though. Only his political opponents. Trump couldn’t fart without his team talking about it to the press. Many of Trump’s moronic things he said came out. Same would happen if Biden was asking to nuke a hurricane or some other incompetent nonsense.

All Biden has is some tongue tied moments and clips of him looking or walking one way, out of context, trying to make it look like something is amiss. It is a concerted effort to paint him that way which isn’t supported by people who interact with him… or even those of us who watch his entire speeches.

I know one CEO who met with Biden and said he was mentally alert and very sharp able to recall numbers easily. That was about 18 mos ago. He shouldn’t run again though - I agree 85 is too old to be grinding as President.

I agree with you that concerns over Biden’s mental capacity are valid and that they are more valid than the concerns over Hillary’s health in 2016.

I also take the point that our political beliefs can introduce bias into our perception of the world. In 2016, it’s not like we a couple passing mentions of Hillary’s health; we had multiple posters on here adamantly declaring that she clearly would not live to 2020. Our memories are also subject to friendly interpretations, so I doubt those posters would remember it this way today, but was a sure thing for some.

Anyway, I do think Biden’s best mental days are behind him and we shouldn’t expect better in 2028. Im not sure that definitely means he’ll be going George III on us -and I would have basically the same concern with Trump- but it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.

I’ll be 80 soon. I find myself stumbling over words occasionally. A close friend who’s a neurologist says that’s normal. Otherwise, he says my temperament hasn’t changed in the years we’ve known each other, and that I’m as sharp as I’ve ever been (however sharp that might be). I think you worry too much about his gaffs. Having said that, I think, if he’s like me, he may be too old for another reason: his energy level. He seems in better physical shape than me, however. (I’ve got a bad back which limits me now.)

So you went from "never once heard"......to "I do recall health concerns" pretty quickly. Lol.
Nice attempt to spin it, but the comparisons and concerns are legitimate. The Trump comparisons would likely be much more at the forefront if he didn't have so many other issues that are constantly swirling around him. I guess one way to mitigate the concern over age is to have countless greater concerns.

With Hillary, it was never to the point she obviously can't do the job. She had some health issues, it was talked about, but most of the time it wasn't to infer she couldn't handle the job, it was more as an explanation as to why her campaign was so miserably flat. So we're talking about two totally different things here. Hillary, even with whatever health problems she had at the time, was lightyears quicker on her feet than Joe Biden is today. Anybody can see that. It's not even close. Ditto for Trump. Biden cannot stand up in front of a large arena audience and give 90 minute off the cuff campaign speeches and do it over and over again like Trump can. Biden doesn't do press conferences or many interviews, because the more he talks, the more he's going to get tripped up. Everybody knows this. Trump is constantly doing interviews, taking questions from the audience. He's engaging. Biden can't do that.

Comparing Biden to Trump or Hillary is dumb. You may not agree with Trump's policies, but when Biden can go on a nationwide tour and pour tons of energy into meeting voters, speaking to large crowds and drawing large crowds, get back to me. People drive hours to hear Trump speak. People a block away are like "Biden's speaking? ... meh" His acceptance speech at the convention was cut down to the shortest in history for a reason. His personality and speaking ability was never captivating, even when younger, which is probably why he plagiarized all those speeches. But now he's simply not able to pull off long speeches or be engaging for any length of time. His handlers know if he tries, there's going to be too many gaffes to have to explain afterwards.

Trump does have a lot of energy for his age, and I will give him props for that. But lots of people thought Trump was going to destroy Biden in the debates since Biden was hiding during the campaign, not doing rallies, etc. As I recall, though, most voters thought Biden won the debates despite being sleepy and despite being a stuttering gaffe machine. I do think Trump can be entertaining but that a lot of people got bored with his shtick, and the groupies who never tire of it only get one vote.

You are on a completely different tangent now. No one has suggested Biden has a captivating speaking style or draws the crowds. He's not dynamic, and doesn't bluster to the extremists like some others.

But back to the point....you can keep spinning all day long but the fact remains, you went from "never once heard" to acknowledging what several of us were stating is accurate re Clinton.

In five years going by the national mortality numbers for men, he'll be dead but don't worry liberals, Obama has been running this chit show of a Marxist government.
