    Thanks ET.

Mertz only needs to respond quickly, get the ball out fast, be accurate, run on occasion, not throw picks, and hope the line can protect him. All the other QB's are doing the same thing.

I'm hoping Bordingham, and some of these fast reciever kids can make a difference this year. Our backs will be making some catches out of the backfield as well. The running game will be stellar. I expect to win some of the games we would have lost last year-primarily through consistency.

Eventually, we'll get back to the days when we need a first down, we get it. We don't hope for it. We expect it, execute and get it! A lot of that comes with team chemistry and confidence. They just go out and do it. You don't always have to be the best athletes, but you need to play like you are. Having some of the best doesn't suck either.

Beat the Utes~ not that I'm thinking ahead!:eek:

    Go Gators.

At this point, I'd be happy to see pass attempts that at least go past the first down marker......

In that opinion editorial he says that Mertz has a 20 TD max in his passing game? If that's the case then we need at least 30 in the running game and a top 5 or 6 scoring defense to make any noise in our conference next year.

I'll settle for 50+ total TDs if our scoring defense allows for under 11 points a game. But I expect more than 20 TD passes from Mertz this coming year. 30 seems more than likely if he can read the defenses, and keep the turnovers to a minimum. I know our receivers will get open next season, especially the receivers that were here last year... in their second season with Napier and company, and with the natural receivers we just signed.. Mertz has to be able to get the ball to the receivers and let them do the rest. I think he has all the tools to accomplish that.

I’d like to see Brown develop into a starter this year , think he is more athletic and has a higher up-side that the rest.
A lot depends on how Mertz does on the road to start the season. He chits the bed in Utah that could open the door for Brown, he plays good enough to win it will be hard for Brown to get a shot

If Mertz or Miller can’t get it done, it would be really nice for Brown to take over and do well. DJ could ease into his role.

Let's not play the "how bad can we be" game just yet. I predict Mertz will start but we'd be wise to give the other QBs situational roles so they too can get some playing time. We need all hands on deck when it comes to our QBs.

We just need to find one of the three that can actually play. No need to candycoat it

Yep, but I feel like Mertz can get the job done if he gets the start. Have you seen his highlight video? It shows a different side of him. I think he was stuck in the wrong QB system in Wisconsin.

Have you seen Anthony Richardson’s highlight videos? He looks like the greatest thing that ever happened to football.

Lol... I have to admit that made me laugh out loud. :D;)

Mertz has more accuracy and touch on the short to intermediate passes.

But overall, they both suck. I am hoping for Mertz to have that breakthrough.

I’m sorry. Richard does not suck, he’s just not nearly as good as he could’ve been.

Nah... neither of them suck. We'll see how fast Mertz picks up the offense.
