AU just lost another committ most likely. Kevin McConigle. BTW..Hogs had 13 top 100 committs..lol absurd. 6 was next highest. Class of 2023 HS Baseball Player National Rankings | Perfect Game USA
Basically watch out for the RHPs. Peterson, Ech, Rodriguez, McNeillie. All top 100ish draft prospects.
Switch to MLB network if you have it. Much better coverage, no Eduardo, but have to listen to LSU lovefest/recruiting pitch.
yup.. and IMO Perez is best of the espn bunch,,but dont disagree w/ him being bad..lol No softballers on MLBN.
No Gator signees picked in the first 2 rounds. Chances improving that they will make it to campus. Not a done deal yet, of course.
Not a switch hitter but reminds me so much of Mickey Mantle in his style of play. He'll be a long-term successful MLB player.
And the Mets draft Sproat again. (Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.) He could, technically, come back. And maybe be thrice the top draftee-who-didn't-sign. I know it's about a 0.1% chance, but could you imagine anything more LOLmets? Wyatt "Full Pension" Langford. I don't know if he'll have best-case defense and develop wood-bat power and be an elite CF, one, or neither but still be a serviceable 4th OF... but I'd bet him on getting 10 full seasons in The Show. Only other 2015 Gator I'd've wagered that on was Brady Singer. (Alonso was a surprise... can't call it "pleasant"; hate the Mets.)
Kendall Rogers @KendallRogersWith the first two rounds of the #MLBDraft in the books, here are the best available college prospects entering Day Two: \\
I'm a little surprised Waldrep slipped to #24 as he was projected 11-19 in most reports. He lost a little bonus money but is compensated by being picked by an excellent organization with a winning tradition of late. From what I've read his command issues were what did it but it's a bit silly that Dollander went as early in the evening as he did. I'd take Waldrep over him any day. Clearly, the Mets see the potential in Sproat - as we all do and drafted him again. They really want you Brandon! Langford slipped one slot but avoided Detroit- no offense to my Michigan friends. Hoping Josh gets picked early in today's session. And of course that our top commits make it to campus this Fall.
Waldrep is really good but the fact is he did have command issues all year as evidenced by his 57 walks (and nine hit batters) in just over 100 innings pitched. Waldrep has to get much better with his control and Atlanta is the perfect organization to do so as their ability to develop pitchers is well-documented. Sproat is in the same situation. Good pitcher with a great arm but had control issues also (48 walks and 17 hit batters in 106 innings pitched). Both he and Waldrep have a chance but like most every other pitching prospect drafted, both have some mechanical issues to overcome in order to reach the big leagues.
Enchavarria was Pick #72, slot value $1.01 million. Langford's slot value is $7.7 million, Waldrep $3.27 million, Sproat $1.47 million.
