“freedom cities” federal land manufacturing jobs home ownership VTOL Rural America Hard working families Young people (and other people) light on info about crime control and keeping cost of living down. These are very communist ideas of central planning. It sounds like the zombie cities in China.
All the Q libertarian types want Fed law enforcement to the cities. Well, “their” Feds of course. Onward Christless Soldiers
Does anyone think this is a good idea? I’d love to hear some of resident trump lovers try to defend this.
Cities are built around something or somewhere. I’m not sure how you manufacture demand to live somewhere in the absence of a reason to live there. With the condition of our infrastructure I’d continue to upgrade it beyond the infrastructure bill instead of this nonsense.
I’m not a Trump defender but we do need a massive amount of new housing in this country. Perhaps a planned city might be a way to help get this done. If it was in the right place. It could help with urban sprawl. Wouldn’t necessarily be paid for totally by the Gov. Federal land has no tax base per se. As far as flying car landing spots, we’ll that’s just silly at this point.
This is code for the Bundy faction. One step away from sovereign citizen crap. Not even sure how this grows the base. The BLM fighters are already flying Trump flags on federal land they haven’t paid fees on for 20 years. “New cities” is about as rational as a third nipple. It’s just nonsense rhetoric to rile up the already perpetually riled.
Trump has also promised that if elected he will end the war between Russia and Ukraine in one day. How could he possibly do this? In Trump World it's easy. He will say that he personally asked his friend Putin if he invaded Ukraine, and that Putin has assured him that he did not. Trump will say that Putin has no reason to lie to him, so the war is not just over, it never existed. Trump will call it (like he calls so many other things) a hoax, a conspiracy headed by that comedian Zelensky designed to ruin Russia's world reputation. And Trump's supporters (not to mention Putin) will praise him, of course, for this historic achievement.
Can’t remember the specific podcast episodes, and obviously they had some setbacks, but they did back down the BLM in some incidents early on and simply got away with brazen lawbreaking, IIRC
I predict that Trump will even promise the Rapture for all those who want to go. The evangelicals will eat it up. And it might not be a bad idea. Who wants to stay around when he's back in office?
You are proposing that the government rather than markets should be deciding where and when to build cities? There is plenty of affordable housing in this country. The issue is that housing is not located in the locations with economic opportunities in the form of growing companies who need employees. Promoting remote work would do far more to handle the housing cost issue than just building a city wherever the government decides is best.
Instead of building new cities in the middle of nowhere to address the shortage of housing it would make much more sense to provide real estate developers with tax incentives to do this: Cities look to revive downtowns by converting offices to housing DC Area Leads the Way in Office-to-Apartment Conversions - Washingtonian https://www.bdcnetwork.com/one-out-...us-cities-are-suitable-residential-conversion The biggest office-to-residential conversion project is underway in New York City
@wgbgator When Trump comes out with his idea for a full command economy, are you gonna vote for him? He's getting close!
