I think Florida is going to have its first #1 overall pick later tonight. Would be the first in school history for any sport.
I love Colby and he can on occasion make a Brooksian play at third, but a collegiate position player that hits well below 0.300 ain't going to be drafted very high if at all. I know that his bat came around late in the season but it wasn't there early in the season. If I was drafting players as a GM I might take him as a late round flier and hope for the best. He has some skills.
Waldrup's splitter is already MLB level. And he can touch 100 with his four seamer. That combo harnessed correctly is totally unfair. I think some team is going to get a steal in this draft with him.
Good question. Rivera has a very strong arm and a good third baseman needs that. I have watched him for years and I would put him in the middle of UF SS's defensively. That is not a bad thing.
I really hope Halter comes back. He's a gamer, a team player and a tremendous leader. Maybe he'll take a big leap at the plate in 2024 like Rivera did this year and that would make him some $$ in next year's draft.
We will soon find out if a kid from the one traffic light town of Trenton, Florida will be a top 5 draft of MLB. Go Wyatt.
