Man. I wish I was a fly on the wall. I have so many questions. like did the player already have her campus visit? if she did. did she like the campus/coaches well enough to wait 2 weeks to finalized everything? If not, will she take a campus visit and meet the assistant coaches? Or possibly meet Tim via zoom? if it's possible to work with the time differences.
In this day and age, I don't see why a player would have to wait to finalize transferring and playing for a new team. Plenty of ways to talk to Tim, even if he is in Ireland. The only person that would wait would be Vawter because she's in Africa. She would most likely want to wait to get home before the announcement. Now, if it's Keeny she could announce with Tim still being away. On the other hand, we're all still waiting to hear who Tim has hired as his third assistant. We'll probably have to wait another 8 or 9 days for that. Answers to these questions and more on the next episode of As the Gator Turns.
interview with future gator pitcher Ava brown. Club Softball, Episode 18: Gatorade Player of the Year Ava Brown - Audio player
Excellent interview. Impressed with the young lady. Players report to UF 8/17 and Ava will be roommates with Mia Williams and Alyssa Hovermale.
The more I think about it, the more I think we've landed Vawter. Tim may have had a rough year and all. He may have made some bad decisions the last couple years; but, the guy is not an idiot. He knows going into the season with 2 freshman pitchers (albeit 2 freshman aces) isn't a good thing to do. So, he landed Vawter before he left. They're waiting for her to get back from Africa to sign and announce. This makes sense to me... the only team I think she'd go to if not us is FSU... but, I don't think FSU has a good engineering program. Wishful thinking?
This young lady tells it the way it is. She mentioned the fact that Bosch was gone, it was a down year for the Gators and only two current pitchers on the team. None of which seemed to bother her. You could tell from the tone in her voice she expects to come to Gainesville and be a winner. I'll bet she does.
What goes around comes around. The 2014 National Champion Florida Gators had 17 players on the team with 3 pitchers. The current team has 16 players with 2 pitchers. All we need is one more good pitcher and we are in business.
Quality over quantity. I think the 2024 team will definitely have some serious quality players. Even on the bench there will be quality. I'm starting to get excited about the future again.. just bring in a third pitcher (Vawter) and we're rollin'.
Awesome interview. Impressive young lady. I am really looking forward to Fall Ball and getting a glimpse of the future of Gator softball.
Was just checking Justin McLeod tweets and he posted Kelly Maxwell's goodbye post on Instagram. Most people were receptive. But a few OU fans were giving him shit for stealing her thunder and stuff like that. Calling him unprofessional and all. I don't know what's worse Ohio State football fans or OU softball fans. They're absolutely the worst. I really hope some team (hopefully Gators) knock the crap out of them next year and into the foreseeable future.
I have been to both Ohio State and LSU for football games. Not even close. LSU is much more obnoxious.
OU softball fans really have become awful. Won't even admit how much they benefit from the portal. Can't even stand to read most the stuff on the other softball forumn with OU fans talking about getting maxwell and acting as theres no kind of backdoor OU keeps using.
The best is Patty Gasso saying with a straight face that there’s no advantage for the Sooners playing WCWS in Oklahoma City just 20 miles from Norman. I’ve been there four times and for Oklahoma games the stands are packed and 90% dressed in red.
Yea there is no way it is not an advantage. If it was say in Gainesville or Tuscaloosa she would raise hell about it.
