Rylee was Softball America’s national freshman pitcher of the year in 2020. Since then she got Bosched.
That's true. At the time of the COVID shutdown, Trlicek was more effective that Hightower or Lugo and she beat some very good teams as well. Just never improved.
That's sad when you think about it. She's not confident in the pitching coach at one of the top D1 softball program in the country, so she goes back to the pitching coach she had in high school and travel ball.
And, it says a lot about how bad Bosch was that Rylee was our best pitcher this year. She hit some bumps here and there; but she was definitely the most reliable.
I've come to the other side. Here's your rotation for the USF tournament in February: Kelly, Alana, Keagan and Ava. And with that, we're off and running to OKC!
Let's not sleep on Keeny. Any combination of Vawter, Maxwell, Keeny would be nice. And about the USF tourney. Tim needs to schedule better out of conference games. Last year everyone's like look at the offense (after we played no one) then Mary Nutter happened.
Duh, I know that. My point is we need to play a few more tough teams before flying out to Cali and playing UCLA or Oregon.
It is weird we have yet to play in that ESPN Clearwater tournament. I know he is buds with Erickson, but come on. Have USF reschedule their tournament for a different week in Feb.
Wow, I really am a member of the Sunshine Pumpers. I like the USF tourney and think it's valuable (although the campus is a dump). It's not designed to hone the player's skills. It's on the schedule for player bonding in a low-stress game environment and confidence building. Heck, read the posts in this forum after the tourney last year -- it certainly built our expectations. It's really on the schedule because CTW's has a friend at USF, but that's a different story.
Take it for what it's worth but a poster on another forum said the Gators are getting two impact transfers this next week.
Sure hope that person is correct. If true, the Whiny Babies of which I'm a member won't have anything to talk about.
