I’ve never had much issue with parking. I take Archer to SW 23rd Drive (across from the newish WaWa, at the ancient Mt Vernon Apartments- that place has to be 45 years old) to Hull Road. SW 23rd Drive/Hull Road has less traffic and less stops for pedestrians than “Ballpark Way”. I then park at the lot east of FiField, there are always spots.

After the game I go back out the same way, or all the way down to North South Drive (I refuse to call it anything else).

    Not sure what I’m missing.

Yep, that works. It seems like most folks arent aware of that access point. As for Mt Vernon, the place is easily over 45 yrs old, since I lived there for a year back in the late 70s and it wasn't new then.

If one parks in the lot North of Fifield: the difference between an efficient "walked to my car, got in, turned it on, on my way!" -- off campus in 8 minutes -- from "I'm now stuck in the parking lot traffic for at least half an hour. And the traffic isn't moving at all." and then, half jokingly: "So maybe I'm here forever. Maybe I'm dead. Maybe this is Hell," seems to be about 2-5 minutes in getting out of the stadium and through the (poorly designed, IMO) pedestrian routes to parking.

Which is why a lot of my initial parking discussion was about "get-away-after-the-game" routing.

As for Mt. Vernon, I will always remember that particular student apartment building as somewhere that, when I came here as faculty in 2009, a "glorified postdoc" in my department suggested I should live. After GNV/UF living situations/geography/etc. were explained, I could never visualize him as anything than a Bad Idea Bear.

The secret is now out that if you park in the lots north of Fifield you park on the most north and east lot. You can then exit without going through either the north or south choke points if you exit to the east. I exit to the east and wind my way through the greenhouses and other stuff and exit going east toward my home.

Now that lot gets full but it used to be pretty empty.

Amen, the ushers/attendants at the old Mac didn’t make for a fun experience. Most of the lower chair backs never got sat in and even family members of players were asked to leave.

Never forget one night at the Mac for a midweek, opponent doesn't matter, the crowd was maybe 1,200, open seats were everywhere. My buddy John had left in the 5th inning since the Gators had a good lead. I figured I'd move down underneath the press box to listen to the radio call below the open window. Not even two outs later an usher comes up and tells me to move out. I still remember asking the usher, "Do you like not having fans come to the games".

At the Mac I had first row seats behind home plate one off the aisle (best seat in the house) and I went to nearly every game. And because it was always a different set of ushers I had to show my ticket every time.

I think that with the electronic tickets it is much harder to "police" sitting (not trying to diss you @74nole, LOL) so it has become looser. I now sit seven rows up behind the plate and on occasion the ushers have to shoo squatters out so that the actual ticket holders can sit in their seats.

With the relaxation of seat policing I have many more scouts sitting near me. At the Mac if I had an extra I would invite a scout down because they were relegated to standing behind the lower level seats without an assigned seat.

And the UF President's seats were across the aisle from me and he rarely attended but well heeled alums were always there. Where are the President's seats now? I suspect in the upper level behind the plate.

Not sure what official entity owns them, but seats 1-4, row 1, section 108, get attention from ushers whenever someone squats there. For parts of about 10 games people sat there, often oblivious-looking rich folks accompanied by a guy that other people seemed to recognize. He was too small to be a former athlete, so I guessed he was some sort of UF or UAA administrator. My perception was they were meant to be impressed by the good seats. (A personal aside is that I passed on row 1 because visibility from that low suffers from the low angle at ground level.)

The escort guy sometimes sat there by himself or with, apparently, his wife and kids. At times, Stricklin, JFoley or other familiar faces joined him for a few innings. At one game, Keith Perry showed up to squat there. When a kid usher tried to shoo him away, he bullied her by explaining firmly that he was important enough to sit where he wished and another usher appeared to tell her that was correct. He didn't stay long when nearby fans showed vocal disdain for his behavior. He was the only one who ever failed to politely move.

Totally agree. Row 1 at the Mac was higher up.

I like my row seven seats for a good angle over the ump's shoulder.

I have had to shoo scouts from my seat a few times.
