Kinda blows the argument that "the NCAA is making money off the poor kids" out of the water. Correction. A select few are making some money for their schools and putting that money back into their programs.

The only one stealing is the NFL, who created this mess then foisted it on the NCAA (with help from idiots in the media) and walked away, ruining our favorite sport in the meantime, all while doubling the income of the second most profitable league in the world - one that has 4 divisions of Minor Leagues to boot.

The top colleges only are the nfls farm system and they like it just how it is, both the nfl and the top colleges.

    Just not the fans.

Or at least those who care about the school and aren't jock sniffers.

We fans get the short end of the stick for sure. We pay the kids salaries and fund everything for the school. The kids benefit not only by being paid if they are with the investment but all the other kids playing all the other sports exist only because of football. Fans pay for it all through football. Sure, there’s only 30-40 teams that turn a profit so I do wonder how those other schools have sports programs. Vandy gets their free 50 mil tgat they don’t even try to earn but how do the non power five schools do it? Northwestern has plenty of money. Do they get a rich booster to pay for women’s volleyball or do they do car washes like hs kids.

I doubt it is even near 40 schools when you take the entire athletic program into account. My guess its no more than a couple dozen.

FSU with 11x the allocated funds as UF and still coming in $40M short of us shows what a charity case their program really is today. The athletics department there is on financial life support more akin to a USF or UCF.

Maybe. We weren’t ranked and we are in tgat group. I’d say if you are ranked, you belong with the big boys. There are definitely tiers to how hard they are trying but a team like Nebraska is definitely included. They have the fan support and money to win games. There’s more than 24 legit teams that belong on the field with each other. At least half the power five aren’t pretenders. They come and go.
