Justin McLeod @justfactsmaam Former Wisconsin P Paytn Monticelli is transferring to Oklahoma. As a freshman in 2023, Monticelli posted a 2.71 ERA, a .235 opponent's batting average, and 82 strikeouts in 80 innings of work. Justin McLeod @justfactsmaam Former Princeton P Alexis Laudenslager is transferring to Notre Dame. The reigning, back-to-back Ivy League Pitcher of the Year, Laudenslager owns a career 2.29 ERA, a .199 opponent's batting average, and 352 strikeouts in 288 innings of work.
Thank you for the update but neither one appears to any better that Marissa Messamore so no real help. Both have similar stats to her
I think Monticelli is actually pretty good, especially for a freshman. She's 6'2" and throws 70 mph. Patty Gasso wouldn't have signed her if she didn't think she could contribute at the #1 softball program in the country.
I'm only eating crow if we land Vawter. lol.. But, I'm going to throw some positive mojo out there and we'll land Keeny too. MOJO!!!!!!!
Just info. I'm passing along. Justin McLeod @justfactsmaam Former Furman C Riley Ludlam is transferring to Oklahoma. An All-Region honoree in 2023, Ludlam hit .372 w/ 10 home runs and 41 RBIs on the year. She owns a career .309 batting average, 25 home runs, and 117 RBIs.
Former Ole Miss OF Brooke Barnard is transferring to Florida. A .257 career hitter, Barnard’s career numbers include 15 runs scored, 11 RBIs, 2 home runs, and 7 stolen bases. Not quite the pickup I was looking for. From what I read, she was ranked 11 coming out of high school (EIS). So I guess there's potential there?
She has dealt with a lot. She’s from PBG, so coming home might help a lot. College News: Ole Miss Freshman Brooke Barnard Loses Father & Brother to COVID Over Last Month - Extra Inning Softball

Everytime I see the Justin McLeod notification on my Twitter I'm like here we go. Lol Still waiting for the Keeny and Vawter pick up. MOJO!!!! Also, waiting for info on third asst.
Played for the PB Gardens Gators in HS, so maybe she likes the name. Also had a big game in ole miss one win over UF this year. Must have made a good impression on the coaches.
That was not expected. Her resume coming into Ole Miss was very good. For whatever reason, she played rather sparingly her two years at Ole Miss but had a very nice series against our pitching this year. Appear she had a horrible Covid tragedy in her family. Am I the only one puzzled by this? This is not intended as criticism of Brooke. Let's give the kid a chance to prove she belongs. My comment is more directed to the rumors and how Walton uses the portal. If this was the supposed high level visit, I can't see how that is the case. As to the other, Walton basically ignores the portal for several years and yet he comes up with Pal and Brooke? It confuses me. And I am pretty much excluding Korbe from that as I feel in my bones our getting her was much more for her driven (and that kid is driven) academic desire than Walton going out and pursuing her day after day. Again, I emphasize, I am more than willing to give Brooke a chance to see how she might fit in with the players returning and those coming in this year and next. That remains to be seen.
I think somebody previously said that Jocelyn Erickson was coming in this weekend. I had not seen or heard Brooke Barnard's name mentioned until the announcement today.
Looks like a Kistler type player with a little more power. One of the two will become the designated pinch-runner.
