I think there are people on both sides who would probably say that their criticisms and pessimism about America are based upon their desire to see it improve.
I really detest that false dichotomy that you either blindly support all things Trump or you hate America. You can love your country and want to make it better at the same time. That old love it or leave it trope is utter bullshit.
While I t’s certainly not anything I would do, I’m glad we live in a country where you can burn the flag and not be arrested. I don’t really have a problem with it, so long as you don’t commit violence or attempt to stir up violence. I don’t understand the caption stating America gave “these people” everything. Seems to be very vague way to say something very specific.

Yeah, and the Trumpian style of patriotism is particularly odd to me. He can talk about terminating the Constitution but that's okay because he hugs the flag. He says all sorts of horrible things about America, but those things are not considered unpatriotic when he says them. Quitters. Kidding… my parents immigrated here from Haiti and made the most of the opportunity. Mom was an RN, Dad was an electrical engineer with a Masters, sister is a OB/GYN and almost done with her MBA from Yale. I’m the slacker of the group with a UF MBA. America is a great place full of opportunity, but there are a lot of things we can improve upon. I like that people keep pushing to make it a better country. We have a troubled past, with deep consequences on the affected groups. My Cuban brothers and sisters generally hold some very unique political views vs other Caribbean immigrants. It’s an interesting phenomenon.
No, I think he meant “black people” if I’m going to keep it 100. It’s probably meant to tug at the heart strings of those who think that black people are ungrateful America haters. Clear propaganda, IMO.
