I’d like to see all seats have chairbacks.

If all seats were converted to chairbacks in the west, east and south portions of the stadium it would result in nearly 20K seats being lost. Can't imagine that kind of reduction would sit well.

    Here's is the seating study:

I'm surprised to see that the tread depth is currently the same in the lower bowl and the upper bowl. I had thought that they were already deeper in the lower bowl. I guess its just the risers that are higher in the upper bowl.

Assuming about 32 rows in the lower bowl, a tread depth increase of this magnitude (8" per row) would eliminate 8 rows of seating. Short of jack-hammering concrete, there's no telling what kind of erector-set stands we would end up with in this scenario.

The stupidest idea in that study is the completely useless cross-aisle that eliminates hundreds of the most primo seats in the entire stadium....O'Connell Center thinking at its best there.

The trend seems to be better seating for a better experience. The teeny seats and lack of legroom for alumni at the seat premiums has been ridiculous for decades

As long as they keep the seating capacity, or add to it, I'm fine with that look.

Sure but mainly because we are getting bigger (read fatter) as a society in the last 90 years. You know at $400M that "premium" is going to grow exponentially especially if they reduce the number of seats. You know they are going to want to be revenue neutral at worst.

Recall Stricklin saying a couple years ago likely 8 to 10K reduction. And, that reduced travel now by visiting fans would account for about half of that.

We’ve had them for years and they’re way better than without. Keeps people from encroaching on your tiny spaces, and also keeps knees off your back (or at least softens the blow)
