Well, if she wants to get to OKC, hop aboard the Gator Express.. I really think our lineup is a lot better. If she did come to UF, I think odds are pretty good we can get to OKC and be competitive. We just need her and one other arm. AND no word on paid 3rd asst? (I know not portal topic)
Golden Gopher softball head coach Piper Ritter has announced the addition of transfer Cassie Lindmark to Minnesota's roster for the upcoming season. Lindmark joins The 'U' after graduating at Penn State. While at Penn State, Lindmark made 83 starts and appearances for the Nittany Lions, averaging .374, including seven home runs and 39 RBI. As a junior, she led Penn State with 64 hits and a career best .400 batting average, launching 16 doubles and seven home runs. Notably, Lindmark received All-Big Ten second team, NFCA Great Lakes All-Region third team, and Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar team nods with the Nittany Lions.
Her Bachelor's is in Management Sciences & Engineering. We have so many Master's programs in our College of Engineering that I'm sure there's one that fits what she's looking for. The link below lists all the Master's programs offered at UF. Areas of Specialization - Graduate Student Affairs
I would just like to say that I'm thankful this is the last year of fifth year (COVID) players.. Think I said it before; but, it had to be repeated. lol
Oklahoma is going to receive "big news from the portal" most likely after the 4th of July. some say it's Taryn kern as she visited last week. but I think it's Vawter.
I might have my timeline mixed up. Keeney was in Tallahassee visiting FSU. I wonder if she visited Gainesville. but I don't know if that was before or after her Knoxville visit.
You quote says "big news", not good news. So, the news could be Vawter decided to decline their offer and is going to go to UF. Because I don't think it's big news if they get her. It's what's expected. Her turning them down is big news.
If it is Vawter, then she really wasn't serious about a graduate program in Engineering. OU is ranked #110 of schools in the US for Engineering. UF is #47. Should have just stayed at Stanford. https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-engineering-schools/eng-rankings
Interesting but I'm pretty sure Walton is already gone so who would she meet? Could it be the pitching coach? Or the hitting coach? Walton was in Canada this weekend watching his son pitch. Then off to Ireland although I don't know what city they depart. Edit: Found out they leave for Ireland on the 6th so I suppose it is possible Walton has returned to Gainesville.
Interesting that Vawter is involved in the Africa stuff like Stacey Nelson is. Maybe a connection hopefully?
CTW was in Ottawa watching his son pitch this weekend. My understanding is that he is coming back to Gainesville. Team USA leaves on the 6th.
Justin McLeod @justfactsmaam Source: Oklahoma has their transfer pitcher - and it’s not Alana Vawter. My guess is Paytn Monticelli from Wisconsin. We'll know soon enough.
