Meanwhile...back in the real world where we measure and analyze, rather than make BS up, someone should tell the Amish and Mennonites who suffered basically the same excess death rate as the rest of the American population in 2020.

Those who fend off criticism of vaccines are defending their judgement. And probably projecting anxiety as well. After all, they’re full of them!

Finally after 3 years I got Covid. So did my son for first time, and my daughter for at least the second. Wasn’t at all a big deal for me, but I had all the shots and boosters. It was a little harder on my son, who is on the spectrum, and now he can’t smell, and that is a major pain in the ass because he has a limited diet and some of the main foods he likes he can’t smell them and won’t eat them.

Can we please spare the..."but I had all my shots". You were going to get covid and be fine regardless is just as accurate at this point.

I had no clue people still tested for Covid. o_O:eek::confused::cool::):D:devil::ninja3:

I have to think it’s mostly morbid curiosity. People not wanting to miss out on playing a bit part in the (pseudo)pandemic of the century.

Yeah the loss of smell was bizarre to say the least. I’ve never had that with any other sickness in my life so as soon as I realized I couldn’t smell anything I knew I had covid and took a test to confirm. This was back during the alpha strain. I will say, though it did have one silver lining. My daughter was 1 at the time and it was nice to not be able to smell poopy diapers for a couple weeks!

I hope your son’s smell comes back soon.

This one is going to said the anti-vaxx crowd into a frenzy. A Meta-Data Analysis from 15 observational studies based on electronic reporting records of instance of Myo or Peri carditis in those 12-17 years old through Feb 2023.

    Key findings:
    • Rate of Myopericarditis was 43.5 cases per million for those vaccinated with BioNTech or Moderna vaccines
    • Myopericarditis instances were NOT higher than those observed in 12-17 years vaccinated with the Small Pox vaccine (132 cases per million) or other non-COVID vaccines mixed (small pox + influenza at 56 cases per million).
    • Myopericarditis instances in vaccinated 12-17 year olds are significantly lower than the instances of Myopericarditis in 12-17 year olds who contract COVID-19 (501 cases per million).

Pretty interesting. Risk for boys is 6 times that of girls, and second dose is about 4 times the first dose - although even those were lower than infection.

I could still make the case for spacing those out in boys of that age group.

^ Imagine being told there are no viruses, but for the sake of compliance we were being urged to take injections which may cause harm, so space intelligently …

Even if you believe in viruses (why ?) it’s called Covid-19 for a reason. We’re heading into late ‘23. You had your (pseudo)pandemic of the century. Time to move on ?

Yeah, no idea why anyone would want to discuss the NEXT Pandemic. Maybe the fact that we cannot go more than 40 years or so without a global pandemic?

1889-1890 - Flu Pandemic killed over 1 Million people.
1918 - Spanish Flu (of Kansas) Pandemic - over 500 Million Infected; 20+ Million dead
1957-1958 - Asian Flu (Hong Kong) Pandemic - over 1 Million dead
    1981 - Current - AIDS Pandemic - over 35 Million dead
    2009 - H1N1 Flu Pandemic - ~ 1 Billion infected; estimated 500,000 dead
    2019 - 2023 - SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic - ~ 6.5 Million dead

Hint: History strongly suggests it will be an influenza variant!

I’ve read there is speculation that the 1890 pandemic may have actually been a coronavirus.

I found the interview with Eddie Homes interesting when he started discussing the Corona Viruses found in bats in Laos. Researchers have identified at least 2 that can bind to the ACE-2 site on human cells to gain entry into the cell. One more stupid piece of BS "proof" that SARS-CoV-2 was "engineered" to infect humans now that we have found other Corona viruses in the wild with it. IT also turns out that a corona virus of the Rhinopholus Bats of Laos is the closest genetic match that we have found so far.

There are so many unidentified viruses carried by bats, nothing would shock me at this point.
