A lot of very defensive libs in this thread. Sorry the ruling didn’t go your way but you will just have to go on in this shithole country. I hope you all can manage. I mean you could be in Somalia, Iraq or Afghanistan.

When I say “I can’t,” I don’t mean that I can’t in this scenario. I mean that there is no evidence and no circumstances I could ever point to that could possibly disprove that vast inequity implies a prejudicial or unjust cause in your eyes.

This notion that vast inequity is caused by prejudice or injustice is essentially a religious view. It’s a desired inference based on studies despite the fact that this is not what the studies prove.

You can cite studies all day, we’re going to be reading them differently, which is why I was attacking the crux of your point, which is again something that you refuse to answer. So now, I’m not going to play your game where the rules are so stacked against me by how you define “(vast) inequity” that it’s impossible (as in nothing could ever disprove that point in your eyes) for me to win, but not impossible for you to win.

As to your link, it was behind a paywall. I couldn’t read it.

Then why bother making a comment totally lacking in constructive argument that applies insults and mockery toward a stereotype? One that demonstrates a total lack of empathy or desire to understand others' perspective.

Many posters on this thread do it out of a lack of self esteem or sadism to make themselves feel better. I guess you're just doing it for practice.

I mentioned this early in the thread. I'd hope schools adopt it or something like it.

Michelle Obama’s heart is breaking now that Asians must get due regards in college admissions.

It's still a good idea to try to be fair.

Possibly so. There is a strong theme among liberals to be fair. Someone or some people will always be left out.

    Yes, yes, and yes.

Meanwhile, the conservative motto: We don't ever try to be fair?

It doesn’t seem practical or wise to be consumed with fairness when I know it do be an almost futile task.

If everyone holds that standard THFSG loses 90%+ of its content.

Also, the idea of fairness is subjective and it is hard to find agreement on.
I don’t trust the govt and I certainly don’t trust the liberal democrats to know about fairness.

    Top of the ridge
Fair and equal are not the same. For years the battle cry has been to treat everyone as equals. No matter the skin color. Getting rid of Affirmative Actoon for college admittance seems to be getting us closer to just that.. everyone one is equal I. Their admission process despite race/religion/sex… or at least should be.
Fair is a different issue. And once you start using fair as a standard who gets to decide what is fair. Who decides what is the right amount of prejudice to show to one group over another to make it fair? Who decides how much govt’s thumb should be on the scales to make it fair?
    What is “your fair share??
Do I get to decide? Do conservative or liberals?
Fair is a great idea, but one that is not tangible in the real world. We will never make it fair for everyone so let’s focus on giving everyone the equal opportunity to make the most of themselves. Equal opportunity is all we strive for
    Not equal outcomes

What are the goals of affirmative action? What are the expected costs?
