I’m with you, the privilege of the right to vote for Team Trumpaloons should be immediately revoked.

Why do you liberals always need the Republicans to fix your racist laws. The 1890 Mississippi Constitution which is the subject matter of the OP’s post was written and adopted by democrats, who controlled the majority of legislators in 1890.

I’m beginning to support reparations for descendants of slaves…. against the Political party who went to war to keep slavery, started the KKK, opposed the civil rights act, and disenfranchised black voters in Mississippi and other states. The Democrats need to atone for their long, well documented and disgusting racism and violence against the black folks. Pay up and shut up!

It woukd be interesting to see how you statutorily create that standard and who you appoint to determine if it’s met. Fortunately, it would just be an academic exercise because voting is a right, as it should be IMO.

Your post is so disingenuous it’s not even worthy of a response.

Wait, is this another one of the woke bastardizations of the English language? Does disingenuous now mean “painfully truthful” he/him/they?

Uhmm, not exactly. The “right” to vote is one of those hybrid thing-a-ma-doodles. It’s more of a privilege since you can lose the right.

It could be done on some kind of points system based on a person's criminal record. It could be similar to driving points. If you accumulate enough points, then you can't vote.

Then guns are a privilege because you can lose the right to have them also. But all we hear is "god-given right!"

If the Democrats can make voting against the Democratic Party a crime, then maybe that will happen.

How come you stopped? All of the above is true. It is also true that those same racist bigots followed their presidential hopeful Strom Thurmond into the Republican party in 1964 claiming Democrats "abandoned the people", ie embraced the civil rights movement. Those former Klan members and hate mongers have become the foundation of today's Republi-ban Party.

Not exactly right either. The right to bear arms is explicitly provided and protected , the right to vote is mentioned in the Constitution. I think the right of government to ban gun ownership is before the court next session.

Another example of Republican SCOTUS only caring about "colorblindness" when it's convenient to their politics.

Don’t understand why once you are released, you vote. Plain and simple.

How is it possible that you can’t be trusted to vote, but you can be trusted to live next door?

That goes for voter fraud too. Go to jail. No voting. Fulfill your obligations, OK, try again. Go to jail again if you insist.

Or to put it another way: a murderer did the time. Now back, with access to More Murder. But not vote, that would be cray!

Oh boy. Not sure how to break the news to you, All of your confederate brothers were long dead by 1964. As for your other claim that Dems switched parties...that is partially true. Some did, but most didn't. Not really relevant. Your attempts at deflection have failed. 30 minute time out for you seems appropriate.

I'm still trying to figure out how Democrats knew 133 years ago which specific felonies African-Americans would be committing in 2023?

Yes, it acknowledges that voting is an act of virtue, but virtue according to who is the question? Are we moral relativists where we believe there is no absolute way to arrive at that answer other than who has the power to the write the laws? Or is there an answer to that question that is not subjective or relative in any way? I believe there is an answer to that question that does not succumb to moral relativism.
