I agree with that post, which wasn’t to you but regardless. Look. You think you are ‘helping’ by telling marginalized people they aren’t trying hard enough to get out of the margins. You really think people don’t want to get out of the margins and that they simply like rap music so much they don’t want to succeed? Come on.

When a person fails it’s likely effort. When so many fail it isn’t effort.

 

I never brought up rap music. I brought up culture, choices, and behavior.

And I didn't say they don't want to succeed. They are disproportionately engaging in behaviors that make success far less likely.

So again, if the systems are responsible for the disparities because the disparities happen to be so great, prove to me that the criminal justice system isn't sexist considering the disproportionate number of men who are incarcerated when compared to women.

Women are disproportionately victims of sexual crimes. Clearly their actions are causing the crimes to happen to them since men don’t seem to have nearly the same issue as women. Totally makes sense.

How do you know that? And how do you know whether the bulk of the perpetrators are men?

And what does that have to do with overall incarceration rates of men as opposed to women?

I think it has quite a bit to do with your argument. Your argument is essentially vast inequity or great inequity is a symptom of some other underlying injustice.

If that's the case, then explain why so many more men are incarcerated compared to women. Your apparent suggestion that it's simply because men happen to commit more crimes seems to run directly in contrast for the reason as to why Black people are disproportionately incarcerated.

So why do we treat the same type of numbers differently for two sets of groups? Why do we assume and infer victimhood on Blacks but assume and infer responsibility on the part of men?

Classic case of bigotry of low expectations.
