Louisville has six pitchers and Korbe isn't one of them. She's defense (OF), hitting and speed on the bases.
coach walton leaves what, july 1 for ireland? how long is the trip and who will be in charge while he is gone?
I'm part of the glass half-full, everything will be fine, sunshine-pumper group. In fact, I may be president of the sunshine pumpers. But this post worried even me. No one in this forum knows the families more or has a better inside track with the players than scrappygator. Hopefully this gets turned around asap.
I will say this as a baseball parent.....that's generally not the best or most unbiased source. Especially if the team has a disappointing year, cause ain't nobody more unhappy than mom and dad in the stands. There's just too much emotion attached. Sitting with a group of parents during a game can often feel like you are not even watching the same game.
A friend of mine, not Scrappy who I can't call a friend as I don't know him other than this board, told me sometime in the middle of the season that various parents told him "the problem starts at the top."
Totally agree. Not everyone of them but they’re not a lot of parents who are going to reply to adversity with saying their kid needs to play better. Often blame everything but them selves.
Is anyone that knows going to spill the beans on what happened with Cassidy Brewer other than vague and uninformative general insinuations. Not often a volunteer assistant gets canned in the middle of the season. Just more turmoil.
Nicola Simpson, P – Simpson announced prior to the NCAA Super Regionals that she intended to transfer. The sophomore from Seattle finished her bachelor's degree and wants to pursue a master's degree Tennessee does not offer. Simpson pitched 38 innings in her two season as a Lady Vol and finished with a career 4.42 ERA. She recorded 18 strikeouts in her 25 career appearances.
Would it brighten ur day to know coach Walton is now following both Vawter and Erickson on Instagram? Hopefully that is a sign of what is to come.
In a word....yes. (more words...also on twitter...supposedly Amanda is also following Vawter on Instagram.)
We would all be ecstatic if we could land Vawter. Maybe that's why CTW hasn't been more active in going after a pitcher. She's been his ace in the hole - hopefully. What a mentor she could be for Rothrock & Brown, in addition to providing an experienced All-American arm in the circle. Jocelyn Erickson was a big time recruit coming out of high school. She appeared in 57 Oklahoma games this past season as a freshman, including 32 starts. The Phoenix, Arizona, native hit .337 this season with seven home runs and 32 runs batted in. She entered the NCAA postseason with a .371 batting average but was just 2 for 11 in the postseason. Erickson was rated the No. 10 player in the 2022 class nationally by Extra Inning Softball and the No. 7 player by Max Preps.
Kinzie Hansen staying another year has put a dent in OU catching recruits with her and Nugent leaving. Similar to Bama football except with little professional opportunities players don't want to sit forever. Thing I also love about Vawter is her love for the game it seems. There's an emotional video from when she found out she was an all American you can tell it means a lot.
Would go a long way to relieving my anxiety. I am a long time fan of TW, but some of his player preferences have had me confused and his being AWOL during this period hasn't helped. Hope you are right!
The good thing about Erickson, too, is that she can catch, play 1st or outfield. Very versatile player.
