It's not about free speech. It's about trying to come up with a different angle after losing the marriage equality wars, to be able to validate someone's icky reaction to gays in a more disguised manner.

So suddenly it's about religious freedom, about free speech, from the same people who thought gays should be second class citizens before but lost that argument because it made no sense.

Yeah, just like the named party in the student loan cases wasnt against the program, they just decided someone was harmed and sued on their behalf, didnt matter.

The version of "Christianity" practiced in far too much of this country does not have to "masquerade". It embodies and promotes bigotry openly.

Other than the hypothetical angle, the same thing with the coach praying on the sideline. The so-called factual record was completely false and contrived, known to the Court, but that was of no moment

Her excuse was that she did not want to be arrested under current Colorado law and languish waiting for the case to wind through the courts. Reality is, she was very likely paid by the religious Nazis in this country.

Handing the d party election wins on a silver platter as they are on a crusade to take things away from people while they bark about liberty. Hypocrite control freaks.

When you breed zealots for the purpose of getting them in courts……

Religion is way scarier than other transitive issues

So does this mean a chef can now refuse to prepare a meal at his restaurant for my sister-in-law and her wife? What a country we live in.

After they told women to take of their shoes and get back in the kitchen and returned African-Americans to plantation work earlier this week, they completed the anti-republican trifecta by locking gays back in the closet.

Now if there was also a way to stab Gen Z and millennials in the back to go 4 for 4...

I wonder if state or local governments can require businesses that refuse to provide certain services affecting protected classes to publish their policies.

I can’t wait for the first Jewish or Middle eastern merchant to refuse a Christian its services and everyone on here claiming victory today will be screaming “you can’t do that…..freedom of religion!!!!”

I was just reading about this,
" the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals found that Smith’s craft was “pure speech” and that Colorado was compelling speech through its anti-discrimination law, the judges in the majority argued that granting Smith an exemption “would necessarily relegate LGBT consumers to an inferior market"

The tenth curciit court ruled that the government has the right to compel speech?! In the "land of the free"?

That is exactly what I was taught to fear about fascism and communism. Three Supreme Court justices supported it.
    You are wrong.

"the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals found that Smith’s craft was “pure speech” and that Colorado was compelling speech through its anti-discrimination law, the judges in the majority argued that granting Smith an exemption “would necessarily relegate LGBT consumers to an inferior market"

So they were arguing that government has the right to compel speech from a minority, Christians, to promote a preferred minority, homosexuals. The argument that it wasn't speech was never made.
