That was my thought as well. Someone’s daughter or girlfriend would be my bet. My guess is the message was received.

My guess is that this guy is your source.
"Russia doesn't hit civilians only military targets," Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told Sky News, while Russian state TV explained the missile attacks, saying they were aimed at "NATO instructors" and that "the objective was achieved". It presented no evidence to justify that claim.
Or maybe it was RT or Sputnik news

Killing a pregnant girlfriend seems like about the most innocent possibility here.

Well, given the glacial rate of this war, with no Russian victory remotely in sight, maybe it is wise to take out those future belligerents now.

you know what else endangers civilians? Being invaded… notice their third point… in no way does the positioning of Ukrainian bases justify russias indiscriminate or even discriminate bombing of civilians. Jfc

Kidnapping children and the old and deporting them to some barren stretch of post soviet irradiated Russia may not be the "Alice in Wonderland" future those folks were looking forward to either.

Russia has an incredibly austere position toward human life, especially it's own citizens much less anybody elses.

NATO needs to get off the snide and help Ukraine expel the Russian invaders from the 2014 border.

Becoming clear that without supporting air cover the counter offensive will be excruciatingly slow.

Good for Mike Pence. Saved democracy in the US, now publicly supporting self-determination at the front lines. Credit where due. Strong showing. Sadly necessary

A bunch of buffoons criminally trespassing in the capital being called an insurrection is a a grand example of "First World Problems." An insurrection is when your private military forces turn around and march toward your capital. An insurrection is when half the country takes up arms against the other half in an attempt to preserve slavery. An insurrection is when the mobs break into the palace and behead the monarch.

Trump is a horrible human being, and no doubt would have camped out in the White House four more years if the electors had overturned the election of Biden, but Pence would have sat there right next to him for those four years, and used it as a springboard for the '28 campaign.

To say that Pence is supporting self-determination in Ukraine is also silly. The only thing Pence is supporting over there is his next donation from Boeing/Raytheon/Black Rock/etc. Politicians gonna' grift.

He comes off phony as hell even by politician standards, but on these two matters he is doing and saying the right things (if we ignore his contemplations with former VP Dan Quayle re: the certification of the election).

I just looked up the definition of insurrection to be sure, it has no such qualifiers as to the size of the group. An insurrection, could theoretically be taken on by one solitary man trying to overthrow the government.
The standard you mention with military fighting military is more than mere “insurrection”, it’s all out civil war. Something a not entirely insignificant number of right wing lunatics also seem to be in favor of, at least in their internet bravado (perhaps the “insurrection” is a more representative measure of how many are willing to actually show up for their “battle” waged against democracy).

Right. The fat-asses who showed up on Jan 6 were not willing to fight. They did essentially the same thing as the people who burned down cities across the country in 2020. They found the laziest way possible to exact chaos. If the National Guard showed up in force (Trump's fault they didn't) they'd have scattered like nobody's business. So yes, I guess in a Merriam Webster sense, it was an insurrection. I'll concede that point if you concede it was a pretty lame attempt at an insurrection.

The same people who criminally trespassed in the capital are the same ones who armchair quarterback Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo while hoovering Little Caesar's and formerly Bud Lights, order cheap Chinese Night Vision off wish.com, don their Condor plate carrier complete with empty magazine pouches, ask the internet "Do you even operate, bro?", and would gladly hide inside their house when the shooting started.

Here is a more realistic take on Civil War, from an extremely successful Youtube "prepper" channel.

Couple of points: Whatever Pence's motivation, I'm just glad he supports Ukraine. Trump is clearly in league with Putin.

I disagree with the above paragraph - Why? If Trump's little tet a tet was successful Jan 6th, and he resumed control of the office, that makes him a dictator.

Dictators don't just "leave the throne" or suddenly "obey the laws he just overthrew" - He would have stayed in office until he died from natural causes or someone ended his miserable existence forcefully.

    IMO
