There hasn’t been a “domestically acquired” case in 20 years apparently. Wonder how this happened? I assume we don’t get cases in the U.S. (and especially FL) because of the amount of spraying, but even with mosquito control it’s hard to avoid them 100%, so it’s kind of crazy to me with all the mosquitos we haven’t had a case in 20 years. Nevertheless, those 4 cases are official (which probably means there’s actually more). Good news for all the hydroxychloraquin dopeheads, that drug is approved for the treatment of Malaria. I remember kids doing this in the late 50's. I did it once with some neighborhood kids and my parents had a fit, told me never, ever do it again. OT ... For many years through the 1950's the man the city of Gainesville contracted to fumigate the streets within the city limits also supplied Muzak to subscribing businesses in Gainesville. He also owned the local telephone answering service used by physicians and others needing that service. His truck equipped with 2 large and loud 2 speakers system occasionally canvassed city streets playing political messages and making civic announcements. He owned the only 2 Klieg lights in town and rented them out for various events. As he was a long time friend of the family and as I recall a highly respected citizen of Gainesville. I remember attending a dinner honoring him when I was 8 or 10 years old. It was a roast of a sort. I remember arriving at The Hub on Stadium Road where some jokester had copped one of his Klieg lights and aimed it to circle the night sky. In the place of the standard powerful night piercing lamp was a battery powered flashlight. He found an exquisitely hand carved billiard table in a local barn and bought the antique table even though he had no space for it in his house. So he and his wife Mabel, built a new house, first digging and building a basement foundation for the ranchstyle house under construction. How long before we read about the conspiracy that "evil big pharma" released millions of known infected mosquitos into the US since Merck had pre-manufactured millions of doses of Hydroxychloroquine. Then people will realize that there is already chloroquine resistant malaria in the world, so patients will have to take the newer, more expensive "experimental drugs" (hint: they really aren't but that won't matter). I fee like we are already on the clock....
Seems a few "menaces to society" are popping back up - Polio, Malaria, Small-Pox, Influenza - Not to mention the new stuff. I been hitting the bleach hard but my vision is getting worse and I forgot my handle on GC, but otherwise I'm OK.
