Have a happy and safe July 4th!

Have fun! I don't think we're going anywhere this summer except the neighborhood pool. Maybe Key West for Thanksgiving. I can't even do Duval St. anymore in the summer, it's so hot.

 

Two 4th of July items: 1) I am glad that I am not trying to fly anywhere this weekend. So many flights are already screwed up and it is only Wednesday. I will instead hope that Labor Day week will be all smooth going. Booked my flight to SLC for the Ute game yesterday. 2) If you don’t want to spend the 5th looking for your dog, let him stay inside the evening of the 4th!

 

Hear you about fireworks and the pups.

Fireworks are the bane of our 15 year old pup. That is a scalding heat will mean we are shut-ins most of the weekend.

 

I hate when someone beats me to what I thought was a clever humor take and shows me it's not that insightful. First thing I thought when I saw all the muskets were pointed up is that they were trying take out British airpower based upon the Revolutionary War battle over the airports

 

I've noticed before over that years that younger dogs don't seem as bothered by thunder and fireworks as middle aged and older dogs. It's interesting since older dogs would presumably have less sensitive hearing as well as more experience with loud noises. Perhaps, like people, middle aged and older dogs have become more keenly aware of dangerous situations and their own mortality. Fascinating if there's anything to my theory.

 

That is interesting. Our old girl is losing her hearing, which helps, though she still hides from the close loud ones
