Yep. Everything Lexie is doing on social media is all about the Gators. With Bosch gone, perhaps she and Walton can repair their relationship. She has enough potential that if she can get her mind right and get proper coaching, she would be a very valuable returnee given our situation and, possibly, more than that. We really need her to reconsider. Things are getting desperate.
In 2020 she was a high school senior. 2021 she was a freshman, 2022 a sophomore, 2023 a junior. Next year is her senior year. No COVID year involved as far as I can tell.
No she just has 1 year left.. not going anywhere. Commited to Dean while at JMU. Once shes gone , Dean will follow shortly. Shes only reason he hasnt been fired IMO.
I hope you are correct but not very optimistic. She posted a retweet on 6/12 about why people transfer.
Noles247 is reporting that Wisconsin Pitcher Paytn Monticelli and Indiana AA infielder Taryn Kern are both on FSU's campus today.
Yeah, I saw that too. But, she still hasn't signed anywhere 16 days later. It would be a relief if she did change her mind. then, only one extra arm would really be needed. Of course I'd be happy with more but hell we went through the season with three this year.
She still has tons of potential but coming back and thinking she would play second fiddle to the two incoming freshman the rest of her career might not be very appealing.
the question might be where could she go and be a 1 or 2? maybe not a so good of school, is it better to do that or be a 3 at UF?
With only 3 pitchers (if she came back and the pitching coach got her right) she'd get plenty of innings if she pitches well. Maybe not starting, but she could be our ace outta the pen, kinda like Lugo did her final year. Speaking of which, I don't think Lugo got enough credit for our run to the WCWS.. she really pitched well down the stretch.
Former Georgia Tech C Emma Kauf is transferring to Oregon. A 3x all-ACC and 2022 all-region selection, Kauf's career numbers include 50 doubles, 29 home runs, 114 RBIs, and a .413 OBP.
I am outside looking in on the Lexie situation but what I perceived really shocked me. One of the hardest jobs for a coach is figuring out how to deal with 20-25 different personalities. Some need to be coddled, comforted and soothed. Others have to be kicked in the butt. Most probably fall somewhere in the middle. I just feel like Walton never figured out Lexie, or, I guess, the reverse. Bosch is, of course, the prime suspect in this saga. But it seemed as if Walton publicly displayed something towards Lexie when pulling her after two or three batters. Disgust, anger, something. I can't recall seeing anything like that from Walton before. Lexie, for her part, tried to stay stoic but you could tell the emotions were out of control inside of her. The whole Lexie saga at UF, for someone that came in with much promise, is a real puzzler for me. For whatever reason, I think we missed the boat on her.
For sure. We wasted half of her eligibility and that is unforgivable. CTW kept Bosch 3 years too long, and Bosch screwed with her head and motion, and emotions. For some reason, CTW supported Bosch with Lexie. CTW and Lexie did not speak for the good part of the second half of the season.
Well, Lexie aside, keeping Bosch for three years too long is why we are where we are. No excuse. The buck stops at Walton's desk on this mess.
