It’s a tough balance. He has upside for sure. But he’s draft eligible next year. Just like Skenes at some point the tough decisions have to be made.

 

I don’t disagree. That arm is a hard thing to just give up at this stage though. I kinda hope he doesn’t do a summer league and spends the off season working on repeatable mechanics. Then you have to hope you can keep the bat working while you’ve put your focus elsewhere. It’s a tough call. Glad I’m not the one having to make it.

 

we have given these guys opportunities all year, I dont think it would be over reacting.

 

I am referencing the need to rely on those guys....Nesbitt, Purnell, Jameson certainly would not have pitched extensively in a normal situation. Slater got hurt, Fisher just looked gassed after 50 pitches 2 days before.

 

Chase Burns, and 2 wake Forest players are in the transfer portal... for those that are interested in this sort of thing.

Fortunately for us, our top NIL booster for all sports has the baseball facility named after him. He's working hard again trying to assist the staff with NIL opportunities for interested transfers.

 

2023 MLB Top 200 prospects has Gator signees Steven Echavarria, RHP/OF from Millburn, NJ at #55, Liam Peterson, RHP from Calvary Christian, at #82, Luke McNeillie, RHP from Milton, GA, at #104. Good possibility these 3 guys never make it to campus.
