I don't think the call was bad - it's the rule that needs adjusted. The entire bag is inside the line and Josh had to be on the line to touch the bag. It's not like he was clearly inside the line obstructing the throw. I don't fault the umps because the rule as it stands is stupid.
I'm fine with the rule if you have a double bag. If you don't then you must have the rule be middle of bag to right. Left of middle out. As it stands now, its just absurd.
Because his path to first base included his running in fair territory. He veered back in plenty of time to not interfere with the play . Really lazy decision!!
I don't watch enough baseball to understand why Rivera was called out. But I have a feeling I could watch 50 years of baseball and still not understand why Rivera was out.
Stupid call! Dumbass rule if there is one. So, the runner has to run in foul territory and not down the line laid out in chalk. Right.
