I'm a bit confused here. A transgender man and a transgender woman decided to take their tops off at the White House. Republicans are outraged over the transgender woman being topless: But don't they claim that trans women are really men and trans men are really women? So if they actually believe that, shouldn't they be angry at the trans man for being topless?
Come on. The time difference between boys and girls in track is pretty significant. The winning girls' times in the state meet wouldn't get a boy out of regionals.
Awesome! Start a thread on that. You know what's amazing? I can actually care about multiple things at the same time. I know, crazy. Take a lap.
Here we go again. When facts, science or common sense stand in our way, we just bastardize the English language. (ie. “Pro” choice). Now you guys have created the term “social construct”. What does that mean? Here is the Webster’s dictionary definition: Now, I don’t know about you, but this definition literally describes every single fucking thing in the universe. I challenge you to give me one example of ANYTHING that does not fall within this definition. Oxygen is a social construct. Time is a social construct. God is a social construct. You are a social construct. Transgenderism is a social construct. EVERYTHING in your reality, from birth to death, is based upon an idea created and accepted by society, because society created language, and ideas are transmitted by language. 6 million years of society have created every idea which “constructs” your very being. So come up with a better distraction to the science argument that your position ignores, and stop bastardizing the English language.
wow I didn’t notice the scars. I think most are just pointing out Bidens tweet about brining honor back to the White House and then that happens. Biden condemned it. People should move on. Biden shouldn’t be shocked it happened. Anyone ever been to a pride parade? I was down in south beach a few years ago. Didn’t know the day we were leaving was a pride parade. Nothing is left to the imagination. Its somehow the identity of the LGBTQ community. Funny how both sides react the same way, just different things to cry about.
Yes, I see the logic of separating sports based on things like age or biological sex. Separating based on social constructs seems arbitrary. This team will be for people who enjoy long walks on the beach. That team will be for nudists. The uniform fee will be waived.
What I think is interesting about these sorts of pictures is observing when and by whom specific chests/breasts/nipples are blurred out or not. I personally oppose laws criminalizing toplessness. But I also think these two folks were being tacky doing this at the White House.
Totally inappropriate at the White House. You're there is an invited guest, for a larger purpose. It's not about you personally.
I agree none of them should have done it. Just pointing out that even the people that claim trans women are men sure don't act that way when push comes to shove.
Never let it be said that the anti-trans side has no experts on unfair competitive advantage and cancel culture. Lance Armstrong has weighed in. You read right Charlotte Clymer has responded with a great comprehensive thread
Another bizarre argument. Two things can be true at once, no one is a saying that one argument invalidates the other or that both things can’t be processed or argued at the same time. Unless we are saying that the #metoo movement is dead now because of trans issues.
And interestingly the person in the picture below finished 8th in the state (Montana) competing as male in high school. She didn't even finish in the top 50 in the NCAA Division 1 regionals competing as a woman. Apparently several years on female hormones does affect athletic ability.
Yeah, my early theory, and it is based on a very low N, is that this is a much bigger deal in sprinting than distance. Thomas started swimming shorter events than she did in Men's races (and wasn't winning her best events from her days in the men's races). That was where the gap in physical stature seems to actually make a difference. In distance, which is heavily about form and endurance and not about mass, the hormones seem to do at least most of the job.
Would be interesting to see a study on this. But what about cycling? This wasn't a sprint. 131 mile race and a 5 minute win. Trans cyclist Austin Killips wins NC race by 5 minutes
