I don't think he's warmed up in the bullpen the last 2 games. And someone who is in Omaha posted that he was unavailable Saturday due to some type of illness. That was why I asked the question and I still haven't seen an answer about his health. I hope he's OK and ready if needed.

LSU suffered the most lopsided loss in CWS finals history. A rebound relies on its pitching.
    • BY WILSON ALEXANDER | Staff writer
    • OMAHA, Neb. — The most lopsided loss in College World Series finals history does not stem from one play. It happens because multiple mistakes pile on top of one another, coalescing into an ugly mess that you would rather forget.

Where do you start in LSU's 24-4 loss to Florida? With five errors, the most in a CWS finals game? Twenty-three hits allowed, tied for the most in any CWS game? Thirteen runners left on base? What about six unearned runs? The six home runs given up did not help anything. Neither did three more fruitless at-bats with the bases loaded.

Thanks, fixed it. Didn’t seem right when I looked at the stat page last night, but I’d swear that’s what it said. Of course, both me and/or the stat person were likely off kilter after celebrating yesterday’s win!

I am excited for this game.
Special group of Gators on display in the last game of college baseball for the year.
It was a brilliant season filled with unexpected pleasures.
Just gonna enjoy it. IF LSU plays their best stuff and wins, so be it. Not gonna ruin my admiration nor my joy.
    Go Gators!!

The great thing about this game, it’s a Pier-Six brawl, all hands on deck and anything goes. I like our chances tonight.

This is why we play the game—so let’s give them our best Gators shot at this game and win this National Championship!

My guess is they will start Thatcher Hurd tonight.

I think they would like to try and go with Hurd, Guidry, and Cooper (if he is over the bug). And IF they nned and inning from Skenes at the end then go down that path. That's not a bad threesome of arms

So excited and so sad. Obviously excited, but I know this is the last game for some of these great players. I so hope they get the win so their last game is a very happy memory. Especially for Josh, Sproat, and BT for this is what they came back for.

My guess: if Skenes's "people" agree he starts tonight with 50-60 pitch count. Otherwise it is Hurd, Herring and Cooper. Better arms than we saw yesterday but we've got the momo. Hoping Cags is on his game.

    Both favorites:

    1. IF Gators baseball wins tonight, the Gators will have won 3 National Championships this month (Men’s Golf 6-1-23, Men’s Outdoor Track and Field 6-9-23, and Baseball 6-26-23).

    2. IF Gators baseball wins tonight, UF becomes the only school to have multiple National Championships in football, basketball and baseball, and it will have done so in each sport this century; none of this 1888/1912 kinda stuff.

Was just over at the LSU page and a story there speculates that he'll get about 3 innings. I would love to see that and the Gators run him off the mound and the commentators run the "LSU brought him in too soon" story all night.

There was also a thread of a de-committment from one of their recruits, but it was a premium thread and I couldn't open it.

Okay, for those of us who are not "wise in the ways of science":
    • What is the most apparent limitation that we MIGHT see for a pitcher going on "short rest" (3 days vs. 4)? Diminished control or velocity or both?
    • What is the actual "danger" to the athlete, i.e. the doom & gloom 'this could ruin his career' / Reason not to pitch
