I love that cheer as well..it was chanted a lot leaving the stadium after a win during the SOS and Meyer years..not so much now..hopefully it will be returning to full strength this fall
My comment was about today's game.had nothing to do with 20 strike outs.the bats did wake up today, correct? Btw..didn't Waldrep have about 12 or 13 SO himself?
i see Neely and Fisher being available for as much as a couple of innings each, tops, Slater for 4-6 innings, probably Abner for a couple among the late season effective relievers. That's a pretty solid group. Nesbitt didn't make it to that group, nor did Purnell or Ficarrotta who both were effective today, so it seems he could be next. His full season numbers are pretty good, but Sully knows how he's actually doing in recent workouts. I know Hartzog and Jameson are on the CWS roster, but I haven't seen Arroyo. Seems someone said he ditdn't make the trip. I assume Finnvold and Tejeda are goners, too.
Yep….throwing over 120 pitches in consecutive games and on 4 days rest. To come back on 3 days rest after the 2 previous games has disaster written all over it if he throws more than 40 pitches. In a way I hope he throws and we beat them throwing him and Cooper.
He’s warmed up in several games and was in the mix after the games. I would say he’s definitely available and ready to go if called upon.
They are buying 1-way tickets out of Baton Rouge for their SS who booted a few today including what probably would have been a double play on the hitter before Evans hit the slam.
They, like us, are wondering if and how much Skenes pitches. Some say its a normal bull pen day so he can go ~50 others quoted Kyle Peterson saying that there will be forces other than Coach Johnson that decide if and how much he throws - thinking that means his advisors and parents. Probably some truth to that.
During our 0-10-1 1979 season we were chanting that going down the south end zone ramp after every home game. living in Knoxville, it has sickened me to see our cheer adopted by these creamsicle heathens.
