And here's the link to that post (#413) in case anyone is interested in rating my post (whatever) - Baseball at LSU, Sun 6/25, 3:00 pm EDT
Yes. No way they sit him, unless they have no other choice. They got shelled today. Tomorrow is for all of the marbles. He plays.
I was thinking the same thing, that he needed to get of his slump, so it wouldn't affect his pitching. Well I think mission accomplished on that one. Might just give him that extra boost on confidence on the mound too.
Still reading thru the whole thread but for Gator fans in Omaha here's a must for the game tomorrow. Get to the mall where Sully got his shirt and have them make up a bunch of orange and blue shirts that say "Yes, I can count to 24. Can you?" and sell them outside the stadium tomorrow. If LSU comes to Gainesville next year for a baseball game, we all should have them ready.
I think he will pitch 100%. They are going to put it all on the line and I don’t blame them. However, now that our bats came alive, they have to be concerned with the short rest for Skenes. The pressure is on them and we taste blood.
With Waldrep not making it out of the 3rd today...any chance he might be available for an inning or so? Crazy thought, I know, but it's a one-game playoff....
I did suggest that in a text with another GC friend wondering the same. With the HR king thing off of Jac's back he should feel more relaxed after today and the game results. Will that transpose into a good outing tomorrow, no one knows. I will go out on a limb and say this. Most of this year we rarely if ever saw all three of our starting pitchers have a good weekend start. If Sproat was hot, then Waldrep was off. If Sproat and Waldrep won the first two then Cags was way off. All three just added to our inconsistency and usual frustration throughout the year. So, both Sproat and Waldrep struggled this weekend. I wonder what Caglianone is about ready to do tomorrow??? Hhhmmm it is an interesting outcome to ponder.
For their coach to play him at any length to win the game imo is jeopardizing this young mans future. Within a week, 2 games pitching well over 100 pitches and then pitch again with 3 days rest to me is foolish. If he does pitch our guys will be ready.
I must say, reading thru the whole game thread after the game was over, I was a bit shocked when I saw it and how amazing this ended up. Well done and feel free to call another big win for tomorrow!
