I hear you and agree. Except I'm not calling LSU a dump. They just have a more passionate fan base and that is a FACT. No other explanation. Go Gators!

Funny that you should make that observation-- that is exactly what my 90-year old mom said... She has become a rabid Gators fan and hasn't missed a game on TV or streaming in the past two months and she called and said- the Gator players looked anxious, especially at bat, swinging wildly at chin high pitches. Not like their determined look in other games.
On the otherhand, she said, LSU looked more relaxed and confident. She also said- when the camera showed Sproat leaning on the dugout railing after he was pulled he had the most forelorn look on his face- it was sad. True.

On a related note, not sure LSU doesn't have a slight edge in talent as well.

I guess these people here in Louisiana have NOTHING else to boast about, because Louisiana is a garbage dump. I say this as a native of that "state".

LSU is one of those schools with a ton of “fans” who never attended LSU. There are others- Ohio State, Nebraska, Georgia to a certain extent, Penn State, etc- that are more or less the only show in town and attract a massive cadre of bandwagon blue-collar fans, in addition to alumni. People who grew up in those areas or states and root for them their entire lives, even if they don’t go to college or go to a different school.

We have that too, but not even close to the same extent.

I hope I am wrong, but the pressure aside, I wonder if Kurland has hit a freshman wall?

So will Sully make a big (or not so big) lineup change or go with what got us here. You may only look at yesterday, but we won 8 straight postseason games before last night.

There are quite a few gator fans here, man. Nobody travels like LSU for Omaha. Nobody.

Sproat was probably sad cause he knew that was his last game pitching in a Gator uniform....

That's true in the GVL area to a great degree. Lots of fans from other areas or people who grew up within 100 miles and chose the nearby team to root for. While LA has other colleges, none are big or have high profile athletics. In FL, noles and scUM have big followings and the commuter schools around the state are developing local fans, mainly younger. Because FL has a population that is so much larger than LA, the mix can exist while there likely still are more Gator fans than LSU. That said, LSU does have a loyal and fanatic base.

On the other hand, at the '06 Final Four, the LSU fans rushed out the doors by the middle of the second half when UCLA, took a medium sized lead. They have plenty of front-runners, who will desert them in a heartbeat. Ask Ed Ogeron.

Yes, but we are good enough that the difference in focus was, IMHO, the difference in the game. We cannot win if we are not "in the zone" and may if we are. LSU was "in the zone."

Two situations where a base hit would have won us the game.

We had the freaking game on a platter TWICE......and couldn't deliver.

The only difference between a split-change and a forkball is press coverage. Still a great pitch, hope he kicks Cajun butt, etc. But it's not some new thing.

Having just read thru this thread, and just so I didn't misunderstand, these are some of the sentiments.
    1. The team seeded #5 in the 2023 CWS tournament is better on paper than the team seeded #2?
    2. Losing last night was a good thing, and will wake up the UF bats?
    3. There is no need for the slightest tweak to a lineup that got them to the CWS?
    4. The game plan that didn't work last night for 11 innings is perfect for today's game?

Any links/resources to explain the difference? Been watching him for a few months now... don't see it (but you get pitching more than I).
