I think that’s right, but I also think it isn’t measuring distance the ball travelled. Instead it’s analyzing hits of that velocity and angle, so the wind is also a factor.
If I recall correctly, this championship series sets up the same way as it was in 2017. LSU's #1 pitcher could only throw game 3, and Florida felt that it had to win in two games. Let's hope the results are the same.
They simply grabbed all the balls hit with that launch angle and exit velo and then tracked where they want. Where they were hit wasn’t considered
That’s right. We won game 1 and had to close them out in game 2. Sully brought in starting pitcher Jackson Kowar in relief presumably losing him for game 3, if needed and to try to win it in two games. Kowar was magnificent and we won and were NC’s. I remember Kowar did not look like the moment was bigger than him. There were several spectacular plays we made that sealed the win. It’s on YouTube, I’ve watched it many times. Hoping Sully uses his CWS experience to our favor!
I would like to extend my pregame thoughts to any and all LSU lurkers out there. afafdafdlasfjdl;ajfadl[fa;dk;lajfda;lfjakl;fdjkal;fdjkl;afjlakd;fjdkl;jf afdjklafjldafjdkl;afjdlk;jfakl;diieiajrieojaopidjiopejoiejoejoejoapejopi afjlkafjdl;afjdl;ajfdl;afjdlk;ajfdl;ajld;ajfld;djl;afjd;leiwowowowwowo afka;dlkjal;fjdla;fjldk;ajflkdajlkajfld;ajfdoiajpowjwlwjlwjlkw;jwlk; wjowpjeoiparjeopajodpjaofpdjapofjapdjklklwwjlwklwjljl;j;adjk;lal srotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagog srotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagog srotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagog srotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagogsrotagog
Didn’t the tv announcers say that LSU had not lost back to back games all year? In both of those series they lost the 2nd and 3rd games. They also lost 2 in a row in the SEC tournament.
Right now the media and pundits just cannot detach from LSU’s scrotum. They’ve crowned them champions already due to their moving and compelling storylines, and due to their collection of players with their bravados, facial hair, and gritty play. The Gators are getting zero coverage. Same thing happened in 2017. History repeats itself when the conditions are right. In Sully we trust.
If I recall, Sully claimed afterward that Kowar came up with the idea of going in if Florida needed to preserve a lead.
Ok gang, we’re at our daughter’s wedding party and might be a little late getting back to the game…..so— Earl Corndog—Never heard of him…. Carry on Gators!
Our stadium is very close in dimensions. Wind and air or something is different in omaha. Was talking to a kid this morning who’s been here all week and he said the wind is blowing in at 10mph almost all the time. Have to hit rockets to get em out. The park definitely plays big
The weather looks great for tonight’s game. As you can see from the radar map below from a few minutes ago, there is a cold front heading toward Omaha from the west and no rain anywhere near. Temperature at first pitch of 90 and going down 79 at 10 PM CDT. The winds are forecast to be from the west at 9 to 10 mph with gusts up to 22 mph. That is blowing out to left field.
Really evenly matched teams on paper. Similar records in same conference. Extremely similar computer ratings. Almost the same number of HRs on the year. Their hitting stats are a bit better, but our pitching situation is a bit better. Should be a good series.
