    Not a position of desperation.

I don't disagree bit if it came down to between him and a plus one type OT or a WR I'm not sure I take Gibson because we need more top end talent at those position more now then we do at RB but otherwise I would take him if for nothing else so one else does.:D

I don’t think you understand what a +1 is. You take all the +1s and figure it out after they’re signed

Rb’s as +1 are kind of iffy. I’m not certain it’s a real thing when it comes to a tight roster. They just don’t have the same value as other positions and one good one can carry the load.

Unless they price themselves out of market value. Can't Over pay for a guy the staff may not deem as valuable as the player feels he is. Especially since he wouldn't really see the field for a year or two and by then we may have a plethora of +1's at that position better than him wanting in and in another cycle we'd have the room and wouldn't have to cut a contributer just to make room him. I like the kid but I'm not CBN and I doubt CBN will throw ridiculous amount of money at a RB.

I know that this is today's reality but I just hate that this comment is the state of college sports as we now know it.

Interesting if the NFL allocation and pricing methodology for players drops down to college level. If RBs are not allocated huge contracts under NFL cap then is their NIL value also less to a top college program. Is there a significant drop off between 5 star and 4 star RBs? Probably not.

I would say the proportional pay would be very close. Super Bowl winners must pay a qb but a rb not so much. Top paid rbs find theirselves on the market all the time.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out, the nfl thinking is more about the longevity of their careers but 3-4 years in college before their “mileage” racks up is very different. Read the thinking on the falcons/Vikings drafting Bijon and Gibbs in the first round is get the standouts now and get their max years on a rookie countract and then maybe move on, not the dumbest idea.

Unless you already lost the RB you wanted most and aren't too excited about the one you still have.

We have the true freshman this year and Etienne for two more years. A running back may be more of a luxury with our other positions of need.
