[QUOTE="GatorChoice,, and had more than double Josh's errors (our leader in that category). Not encouraging.[/QUOTE] My Grandma, who uses a walker, had fewer errors than that. And then more doubles and a 375 BA.
Chase burns in the portal. Vol fans seem to think he’s headed to LSU. Would love if we would push, but I’m sure he wants to be THE guy.
If we get Chase Burns in the portal I will Do the Numa Numa dance nude In Macy's picture window At noon In downtown New York city.
Brian told me he wants to do this too. I heard Tennessee is trying to deny Burns leaving. A way to check is to take a look at the official transfer site.
He looked good in the CWS but he only lasted 3 innings against us giving up 7 runs in the 2nd game of our series.
OK - We've already lost Tejada, Ursitti, Lastres and Alvarez to the portal. Among these names, who do ya'll think transfers out? Talbott, Prevesk, Fabian, Nesbitt, Jameson, Purnell, Sloan, Hartzog, Blair, Ficarrotta, Arroyo, Abner We have some quality portal guys coming in, an excellent freshman class (how great will not be known until after the MLB draft) and a solid group of returning contributors. Just curious what everyone thinks. And Chase Burns is, in fact, transferring from Tennessee. My guess is he'll take Skenes' place at LSU, but who knows? https://atozsports.com/nashville/report-star-pitcher-chase-burns-staying-at-tennessee/
Talcott was a Sr. I think Abner was ill or hurt, but could be starter next year. Fabian should be our 1B guy next year. Jameson set an ERA record one wants to forget.
IMO Fabian either SS or corner OF....we have too many potential 1B with Cags, Heyman and the Coastal transfer likely split catching duties so Heyman will be at 1B often, Amick is a possible 1B if he comes to UF
Talbott is a redshirt sophomore. I think Deric will be back to try to win the SS job. He's a solid infielder who can play all 4 positions, but has to hit better to be a regular starter. Cags is our first baseman when not pitching. I think Shelton is being brought in to see if he can win the SS job. He will be in the lineup somewhere. It will be interesting to see what these guys decide over the next couple of weeks and which, if any, more players we get from the portal. We're going to lose a few more of our pitchers to the portal and need to pick up a couple as well.
In regards to portal time frames, there are exceptions for players who are graduating from their current university and for those who haven't had a scholarship at their current university. I think they can transfer any time.
https://247sports.com/longformartic...test-stars-to-enter-ncaa-baseball--212144530/ Two Wake Forest players enter the portal.
Billy Amick will take visits to Tennessee and then Florida within the next few days....Hopefully Sully can close the deal.....
