He's back now on Truth Social saying the FBI planted classified docs in his boxes. He can't keep his stories straight from one day to the next.

Reminds me of a joke dating back to the old Soviet Union regarding it's two news services. In Russian, ''pravda'' means truth and ''izvestia'' means news, and the old joke about the Soviet press was that there's no truth in Pravda and no news in Izvestia. In the current world of social media Trump once again demonstrates that there is no truth in Truth Social and similarly there is no news in Fox News.

The right believes the FBI is obsessed with jailing Trump. The opposite is true | Andrew Gawthorpe

Donald Trump’s indictment earlier this month on 37 counts related to mishandling classified information set off a firestorm on the political right. Conservatives accused Joe Biden of using the justice system to prosecute his main political rival and attempting to “steal” the 2024 election. Kevin McCarthy, the Republican speaker of the House of Representatives, promised to “hold this brazen weaponization of power accountable”. In short, the right wants us to believe that Biden and his administration will stop at nothing to put Trump in jail as quickly as possible.

In fact, the exact opposite is true. Worried about just this type of accusation, the justice department under Merrick Garland and the FBI have approached their investigations of Trump much too cautiously. Far from being persecuted because of who he is, Trump’s status as a former president and as the unofficial leader of the Republican party have led to him being handled with vastly more deference than anyone else would be. The result has been a series of delays and missteps which may allow Trump to escape accountability once again.

It is now nearly 18 months since the government first recovered classified material from Mar-a-Lago in early 2022. Although the justice department concluded shortly afterwards that Trump likely possessed further sensitive material, it took seven months for Mar-a-Lago to be searched, in part because the FBI feared that the move would open the agency to accusations of partisanship. Trump was then only indicted nearly a year later. After his initial arraignment he remains a free man, released without having to post bail – despite credible concerns he may still have additional classified material in his possession.

Looks like Aileen Canon could have already put on her thumb on the scales of justice. Apparently, the case will be tried in Fort Pierce noting that Trump received around 70 percent of the vote in the counties from which the jury will be selected. Based on probability the odds are much greater that Trump will find the one or more jurors that he needs for a hung jury than if the case were to be tried in West Palm Beach which would have made more sense considering that the crimes allegedly committed by Trump occurred in Palm Beach County.

Smith is starting to turn over his evidence to Trump's team and Orange McClown is pooping in his Depends. He was begging McCarthy to find a way to kill the investigation on Truth Social the other night.

As it turns out, there are more incriminating phone calls and damning interviews with other prominent republicans and his staff. What the public knows about is just the tip of the iceberg.

Although Jack Smith would be required to turn over the evidence to Trump's attorneys in any event I think he turned the evidence over so quickly and apparently included so much as an inducement to persuade Trump to accept a plea bargain almost certainly one under which Trump would not do any time. My guess is that regardless of what his attorneys recommend Trump will still fight to the end gambling that he or another Republican if he isn't the party's nominee would pardon him or terminate the case or alternatively that he will be able to get a hung jury considering that it would take only a single dissenting juror.

Also may be tempting the orange one into witness intimidation/tampering which would bring the hammer down in a serious way.

Witness intimidation is not an uncommon tactic used by the Don (pun definitely intended) of an organized crime family to intimidate witnesses against him.

No pleas! I demand vengeance - er justice!

Edit to add I believe informed speculation is that Agent Smith has a bevy of charges he can file in NJ (not to mention the Georgia election interference).

Trump, as he is walking into his probation officer’s building “totally vindicated”.

Would be interesting to see which media was asking for it. Chances are it is the right wing knowing full well that the witnesses will be attacked by the MAGA mobs.

Judge is already showing her colors.

At best, people are going to be threatened, intimidated and harassed. At worst, the judge will have blood on her hands.

Audio recordings of Trump and his purloined top secret docs leaking like a sieve. It’s about to get crazy, it’s about to get wild!

JUST IN: CNN Airs Recording of Trump Allegedly Showing Off ‘Highly Confidential’ Iran Documents

Telling his guests that the documents contained “all sorts of stuff, pages long, look,” Trump said, “This totally wins my case, you know. Except it is, like, highly confidential, secret.”

“This is secret information. But look, look at this,” he said.
