Posted this in the other cws thread but should also be of interest here. Looking at the weather, heavy tstorms tonight and tomorrow but clearing up before gametime, then good the rest of the way. It’s going to be interesting with the wind. There may be a lot of long balls. Sat W 13 - out to left Sun NW 22 - out to center Mon N 12 - out to right
C'mon Gator sticks, put up colossal crooked (Bazza) numbers on the boards.Whoever is in the box at the time, nobody better, and you're hittin' 1.000. Get your minds right and RIP! GO GATORS!!!!
Everyone knows LSU is the overwhelming favorite as they have such a compelling storyline and such gritty players, as determined by the media and pundits already. Not even sure why we’re playing the games.
LSU always has good baseball players but generally strike me as cocky. Their 2017 team was very cocky and just knew they would paste us. They also were sore losers with tantrums. Sanctimonious is an apt description. Our 2017 was not intimidated nor will this team be. It’s just another SEC team to beat!
Our team has some swag. They’re pretty reserved against teams that show respect, but they can definitely get their chests puffed up if you wanna show out. Maybe someone will jaw at BT early and get the boys riled up.
LSU just played 4 straight days of baseball. The Gators just have to go out there and take care of business on Saturday, can't assume anything, can't get complacent. LSU showed they are aggressive at the plate which helped keep the WF pitch count down. Sproat needs to throw more breaking balls early. If the reports are right about wind blowing out then he better keep the pitches down. The Gator hitters need to be aggressive as well, thinking that LSU will have trouble maintaining much energy after this week if we get ahead early. Be ready to pounce after LSU boots one or throws one away. The crooked numbers will come if we just crack the lid off their pitchers. I hope Abner is better because we need a few LHP for a few short stays against their LH batters to keep them shut down late. Cags and BT will be swinging for the fences, as usual. Its one game at at time though and go win Game 1. GO GATORS!
Agree on paper we have the advantage of a fully rested pitching staff but we have to bring our A game and crank up the bats, especially if the wind is blowing out. Remember, Ole Miss. last year and Miss. St. in 2021 had to scramble through the loser's bracket and won it all. LSU has the momo -- winning three straight in must win situations and that could carry over. Not saying that it will carry over but with their backs against the wall they came through big time. We have to play our best baseball to beat these guys and we will! Go Gators!
We have an edge with our pitching being lined up but an edge in baseball is just an edge. Lots of work to do.
Congratulations on an incredible season Diamonds! WOW 54-15 and a shot at a title. Whip those Corndogs Gators, lets GO!! I wanna be smoking a cigar real soon!
