Ex-LSU coach Will Wade gets 2-year show cause Not that it matters as much since he already has a new coaching job. Effectively a 10 game suspension and he can go back to making strong ass offers.
What a joke! Little Penny gets penalized again for recruiting violations, this time a chicken excrement 3 game suspension. Penny Hardaway suspended: Memphis coach out first three games of 2023-24 season over recruiting violations
The violations related to visiting a prospect a couple of years ago at his home instead of his school. Hardaway and his assistants should have known the rules, but, apparently, they didn’t. A 3- game suspension seems reasonable to me.
Changing the subject a bit, I remember when Galen Hall helped one of his football players make a child support payment, and that action pretty much ruined Galen‘s coaching career.
I try to keep it simple. All this is is an attempt to keep certain folks/programs at one level and others at another. Wade thought he and LSU were prepared to be royalty. The Keepers of the Truth told him/them that they are essentially Nouveau Riche. And as a result, they have been "remediated". Nothing has really changed.
Jarvis Williams denied this happened all the way to the grave. I don't know what incentive was there for him to lie about it even after his career was finished. What is not in doubt is that Hall's career was indeed ruined.
I just remembered that it was Jarvis Williams that Galen was helping out. As for the dude who gave my post above a “dislike,” how about explaining why?
Hey. You’re the guy who gave me a “dislike.” Now I get it. I also dislike what happened to Galen, but I dislike your dislike.
Has Hardaway not had other issues while at Memphis ? He may not know the rules, if that matters anymore !!
He provided financial assistance, I believe, to James Wiseman and family prior to his getting hired as the coach at Memphis. That was determined to be an NCAA violation. I am not aware of other violations by Hardaway, but I have not researched the matter.
I only dislike the re-telling of this episode as fact rather than conjecture by the NCAA....particularly by Gator fans. It was certainly a fact that it ruined Galen's career, which I too, dislike
Yeah, I'd like to understand the "dislike" as well, because what you said was absolutely true. Allegedly, Galen gave one of the Bromleys--Phil I think- $300 to pay back child support that Jarvis owed. For that he was fired and black balled from college football.
Thank you for the word "allegedly" because that is all it ever was. The Grad Asst or Asst coach, whoever he was, admitted to the NCAA that he never looked in the envelope to see what it was, but "assumed" it was cash. The NCAA "assumed" it was cash. Jarvis Williams vehemently denied that his child support was paid for him until the day he died. I don't know why would he do that after both his playing career and Galen's coaching career were over if not true. Meanwhile a Georgia Asst Coach is down at the clerks office in Athens paying players fines in cash....nothing to see there at all.
Well, if the police, judicial and UAA are marching in lockstep it like the silent tree that falls in the forest.
