Saw this discussed on TOS (the other site) but under Napier, which room defensively do you think has been flipped the best so far after 2 and a half recruiting cycles? I know the 23 and 24 so far haven't played a down yet, just speaking as far as personal opinion: DE: Kelby Collins, Kamran James, Caleb Banks, TJ Searcy, Jamonta Waller, Gavin Hill, Quincy Ivory, Jack Pyburn. DT: Cam'Ron Jackson, Will Norman, Amaris Williams, Nasir Johnson, Micah Boireau, Chris McClellan, Jamari Lyons LB: Shemar James, Jaden Robinson, Aaron Chiles, Myles Graham, Adarius Hayes, Deuce Spurlock, Teradja Mitchell, Ronald Nunnery CB: Jalen Kimber, Devin Moore, Jakeem Jackson, Dijon johnson, Sharif Denson, Aaron Gates S: Kamari Wilson, Miguel Mitchell, Xavier Filisame, Jordan Castell, Bryce Thornton, RJ Moten, Josiah Davis
There’s so much promise that every position that I think you just have to pick out where we were weakest before.
I would combine DE/DT since a few will play a form of both and if that's the case then The Dline to me. We've been run all over for the last few years and had mostly had "Tweeners" up front but he has beefed up the Dline with guys like Collins, James, Norman, McClellan, Jackson, lyons, Searcy etc.. not to mention the ones I've named have all signed. but.... I really like what he is doing g with the LB group and our DB's. Hell I'm with @96Gatorcise and will say the defense as a whole. May add that it was pointed out last year that CBN's 2nd year at the raging Cajuns he had a huge improvement in his defense, and again in his 3rd year making huge jumps in overall defense each year. It looks like he may know how to spot his weaknesses amd improve upon them.
I dunno Bobby I just showed my Crystal Ball a shot of your post and a bright white light spelled out these letters: PLAYOFFS
Gotta be LB but it was also the easiest since it was so bare. So I will go with DB as a whole. Can’t wait to see Raymond cook
We have a minimum 4 stars across the board at every position. Contrast that with our recent defense which has been a 3 star base with some 4 stars mixed in. I just hope our NIL keeps the $$ flowing and the stars shining
Actually, it’s been heavy 4 star. Let’s not forget that we were top 10 talent …on paper. It was the player evaluation and player type, through lazy recruiting, that got us here. Get high ranked guys and we’ll plug’em in somewhere and out scheme everyone. It failed …and failed miserably.
DT recruiting was ridiculous under the last coaching staff. Brought in only 6 true DT’s in 4 recruiting cycles lol Humphries Dex Des Chris Thomas Lemar Goods Jalen Lee
