Special counsel John Durham defends his investigation and former Attorney General Bill Barr | CNN Politics
Despite repeated claims from Trump and Republicans that the Biden administration has “weaponized” the Justice Department, Durham said there wasn’t any political interference with his work. He testified that Attorney General Merrick Garland, a Biden appointee, didn’t block any of his moves, didn’t reach out to discuss the probe, and didn’t meddle with the investigation.

“Mr. Durham constructed a flimsy story built on shaky inferences and dog whistles to far-right conspiracy theorists,” Rep. Jerry Nadler, a Democrat from New York, said. “By prolonging his investigation. Durham was able to keep Donald Trump’s talking points in the news, long after Trump left office.”

In addition to rejecting Trump’s insults against Barr, Durham said there was “substantial evidence” that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 election. (Trump accepted Russian President Vladimir Putin’s denials.) He also said special counsel Robert Mueller was a “patriot” whom he had the “highest regard” for. (Trump has called Mueller a “national disgrace.”)

After four years, Durham only secured one conviction against a low-level FBI lawyer for doctoring one email related to the surveillance of an ex-Trump campaign aide. Durham’s jury trials against a Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer and Trump-Russia dossier source both ended with embarrassing acquittals last year.

 

After listening to Durham I wouldn’t trust him to assemble a swing set. He was totally outclassed by nearly ever questioner. The republicans as expected offered nothing but faux outrage.

 

Demolished.

• 4 years and $6.5M and lost every case he took to court
• The DOJ has a 95% win rate and Durham’s sham charges ended up winning zero times
• Durham on record said the FBI should have investigated the Trump case
• Durham found zero political interference and admitted as much
• Durham admits Russia interfered, Trump asked for help, Trump campaign shared data with Russia, Jared and the trumps shouldn’t have taken meeting with Russians
• Durham agrees with republican that Muller report doesnt support public statements Schiff made of Trump asking for help, sharing data, and accepting help then Schiff goes through each one and gets Durham to admit it actually did
• The whole argument by Durham was simply the case was opened too fast.. not that it was actually opened and noted that it was a successful prosecution that lost zero time

It was an absolute blood bath. You’d have to be in fantasy land to have any other opinion.

 

Durham was obliterated. The truth is the big picture. Over the course of his nearly two-year-long probe, special counsel Robert Mueller and his team of prosecutors indicted 34 individuals and three Russian businesses on charges ranging from computer hacking to conspiracy and financial crimes. Those indictments led to 7 guilty pleas and 5 people in prison.

Durham investigated that investigation and had one low level agent plea guilty to altering one email. Nothing else. No Clinton charges, no Mueller charges, no Stroyk charges, no Obama charges, no Joe Biden charges nor any charges to anyone in their circles. The two cases he brought were laughed out of court with not guilty verdicts in speed record short deliberations.

Durham demonstrated his hack partisan investigation with a laughably outrageous attempt to allude to finding something when the courts said he didn’t and his report didn’t have in it. Matt Gaetz even said he found nothing cuz even he’s not that dumb to believe Durham found something.

The reason your response is so over the top general is that you lack material facts supporting anything remotely demonstrating illegal activity from the Mueller investigation whom Durham calls an American hero and patriot.
