So, Kurland hits Robertson in for the score (3rd run) and Robertson catches the third and final out. I love this game and this team...
Some props for Shelnut too.....couple of hits today and the double that made it possible. 3 and 5 hole were voids today but somehow they survived it again
Josh would be my MVP of the tourney for us. Consistent offensive power and some great D. An error too, but overall he’s been the bell cow.
Josh is from Avon Park. My dad grew up there in the 20's and 30's. He was from a large family and not well off. They moved into a country club that went out of business because of the depression.
Let's not forget about this run saving play by Josh Rivera to BT Riopelle early in the game... LMFAO, what a way for the runner to get tagged out. You know that hurt.
If you watch the replay, it doesn't really look like he actually slipped. He just had awkward footwork and couldn't complete the play.
Gotta gets Jac's confidence at the plate back. He hasn't looked comfortable in a while. And what's great about this team is different guys coming through. Shelnut got the leadoff double in the 9th and Kurland getting the RBI on a ball in the hole where the SS slipped on his throw. And Fisher has been really good the last 2 games. But I have to, also, give credit to TCU's 2 freshman pitchers. They were great.
I agree, but just to be fair, with a runner on second in the eighth, Sully gambled with his outfielders playing shallow to possibly cut off the run on a base hit. In the ninth, there was nobody on base and two out, so you were really protecting against an extra base hit, so you could play deeper
I wanted to add without changing this post above. I'm surprised BT didn't tell the runner to cough while he was giving him a physical at home plate...
It’s almost like, and I know this is a stretch maybe, Sully knows the team better …. I said it’s a stretch…better than people on a message board. I know, kinda crazy but…
This has definitely turned out to be a great team. Different individuals rise up each game to win games and that's what matters. That makes a talented overall team. Let's hope they pull it all together and win that championship! Go Gators!
Well I just got my power back on after a 1 hour outage. Came here to see what happened. Thank you, Rick! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!
