But think of all the Jews that could have been saved if Germans would have done to Hitler what Americans under brutal dictatorship did to Trump.
notice in post 21 I mention I don’t like Biden’s off the cuff inappropriate comments and I do not want him to run again. and there are plenty of instances of displaying how bad trump is, but this is specifically his followers sudden concern of potus communications.
Yep, it's like he clowns himself into a corner and then starts lashing out when he doesn't get his way. P**** is a great word to describe it. Biden comes from the school of thought that words matter more than action. Because when we look at his actions, we know the type of person he is. The 1994 crime bill is a great example. Because showing how "tough" he is was more important than doing the right thing.
NB: 1. One poster on TH =/= conservatives' take; 2. GOP still 'big tent', and there's room for different takes vis a vis china; 3. OP put his objection to the statement in perspective in the OP itself--to wit--the timing of the comment (ie. while his SOS is in China, seeking to establish diplomatic relations): Here it is--from the OP: Secretary of State Antony Blinken had been sent to Beijing a day prior to "cool tensions" between China and the US and Biden does this the next day. Not only does he publicly call Xi a 'dictator', but he goes on to mock him about supposedly not knowing about the balloon we shot down in February off the coast of South Carolina. So it wasn't just a rebuke of Xi's human rights record, the comments were meant to embarrass Xi by mocking his lack of control of the Communist party in Beijing. Hey, cowboy up if you want Joey....OR, make a play to "cool tensions". But it is definitely is inconsistent to call Xi a dic, while your SOS is over there. Seems Joey went off script again, and is "....going to get in trouble". Of course begging the question, in trouble with whom???? Because it damn sure ain't the sycophantic, water carrying, ass kissing clown show we have for a national press corps...
Fair enough. None of Trump's tweets involved major world powers who were/are on the buildup to a major invasion. That makes a huge difference. My real concern here is Biden's words are intentional. It seems he is stoking war, similar to what Bush did. Bush routinely derided Saddam and it was clear he was pushing for a war. Saddam was a disgusting human being, but America didn't win that war in the end. When Biden called Putin "a killer", I knew he was right, but I cringed when I heard it because I knew that pretty much ended any diplomatic channel we had with Moscow.
Yep, and I'm even giving Biden the benefit of the doubt as I have serious doubt as to Xi not knowing about the balloon we shot down. He may have played dumb about it, but if the Chinese are doing anything, Xi is behind it.
After they imprisoned him, that is pretty much what happened. He set out a path of elections with accompanying targeted violence. Pretty much where Trump is tactically post 2020.
I’d forgotten how Hitler’s followers walked into the Bundestag and took selfies with Bundestag guards and that’s how he gained a stranglehold over Germany.
Oh, so you have suppressed all the violence from that day from your memory because you don't like dealing with cognitive dissonance. Okay.
If it was a Repub president saying this stuff you'd be cheering them on and talking about how tough they were on our adversaries. And newsflash, Xi is a dictator.
I don't recall Obama making it personal with adversaries. Bush did, which is a big reason Saddam wouldn't talk to us. Though Saddam tried to have Bush Sr. killed, so perhaps Bush gets somewhat of a pass, but again, letting personal feelings interfere with business never has a good outcome. To an extent, I believe Biden understands this, as he blocked the Senate's unanimous 100-0 motion to add Russia to the worldwide state sponsors of terrorism list. But his earlier words with regard to Putin had already burned the bridge.
