Could have stuck it out in Florida and your house value would have doubled in the last four years though. Everyone’s home increased substantially in Florida.
There are other reasons Florida used to be known as one of the better cost of living states.
Things are certainly changing down here. Hopefully we can increase teachers salary and attract and retain quality educators. I think we will.

It did double in the last four years :) That is what let us pay cash for our current house.

Alachua County was always one of the lowest teacher pay in a low state. Combined with high housing costs. Damn UF profs raising the rates ;)

It would seem to rank states you need testing data, if different states even take the same test.

The problem with your take is that it ignores the obvious, and doesn’t disprove my take. It’s like saying I shouldn’t be calling someone a liar when they’re lying. I would say I’m being direct and blunt which may make the right uncomfortable, and that is expected. Fascist, racist, homophobes don’t like being called Fascist, racist, homophobes, but it doesn’t make it any less true.

I disagree. Feel free to show me a red state that isn’t passing laws that doesn’t take away freedoms from POC, women, and LGBTQ citizens. Show me a red state with a super majority like Florida that hasn’t given their governors unbridled control to do whatever they want for whatever reason they want. Red states are doing everything they can to keep control of power by gerrymandering districts, making it harder to vote in minority areas, and removing anyone from their job who disagree with them.

Democracy says we can disagree on things like abortion, healthcare, guns or whatever else we disagree about as long as we agree on democratic means for handling our disagreements. Red states prefer an authoritarian “Do as we say or else” method.

Your reasons for leaving the MAGA party are your own, but it’s not a reason to remain silent.

No. You arent calling a liar a liar. You are trying to paint everyone as a liar. Thats the problem. Your broad brush makes YOU the intolerant and biased one and even those on your side of the aisle call you on it.

You think you control the narrative and the terminology, but that is a fictional construct from a narrow mind.

This is just proof that any side can make numbers say what they want.

Want the schools to look bad, dont weigh in starting pay.

Want the schools to look good weigh heavier on starting pay.

Want a bad economic outlook, dont mention real estate values.

Want a better one, then mention real estate values.

The truth is, none of it is true or accurate and it is all manipulation.

I have mentioned before that I have three nieces and nephews that are teachers. Through them I know several more.

What Florida has done to veteran teachers is probably not criminal but it's damned close. Basically they are taking from veteran teachers to attract new teachers. Teachers who saw the way things worked for 20-25 years were told +×÷= you. We will screw you because we can. What are you going to do start over again at 50+? What they have done ibonot unlike the greedy bastards who buy mobile home parks snd bleed the residents dry because they can't afford to move their home and can't sell it because the lot rent is too high.

The new teahers see what is going on and know there is no future here. No sane person, who has seen what I have seen, would consider a career in education in Florida.

I hope there is no state worse for teachers than Florida.

Statistics and "rankings" are data points and slivers of evidence. They specifically fail to paint the entire picture.

They're important, but people act like they end the discussion, which could not be further from the truth.

No, the problem with ( almost all of) your takes is that they are typically solely rooted in broad generalities (mostly republicans bad/democrats good) that may not be supported by facts, regardless of what my “take” is. And when
your position on most issues is largely based on generalities and not on the underlying facts of any singular issue, you no longer can call balls and strikes fairly, regardless of who is pitching for the other team.

You make some good pts about COL, but it's deeper than that in FL. Nobody in FL needs figures as reasoning for teaching elsewhere.

Keep in mind the initial ranking involves best states to teach in, but it does indeed include student performance:

Note: This metric measures the percentage of Public High School 4-year adjusted cohort graduation rate.
High School Dropout Rate: Regular Weight (1.43 points)
Note: This metric measures the percentage of high school dropouts among persons 16 to 24 years old (status dropout rate).
SAT Scores: Regular Weight (1.43 points)
Note: This metric measures the SAT mean scores of High School Seniors.
ACT Scores: Regular Weight (1.43 points)
Note: This metric measures the average ACT score (Composite score: English, Mathematics, Reading, Science scores) of Graduates.
Reading Test Scores: Regular Weight (1.43 points)
Note: This metric measures the Average Scale Scores between 4th and 8th Grade Reading scores.
Math Test Scores: Regular Weight (1.43 points)
Note: This metric measures the Average Scale Scores between 4th and 8th Grade Mathematics scores.

Right, when I see you saying the same things to those on the right then you can lecture me, and I might not laugh.
