I keep clicking on the link to this forum like 10-12 times a day to see what's going on in the middle of June with our Gators.

I'm so ready for it to be November. I just am thirsty for more good news!!

Hell yes! Can't wait to see how this team performs...think we are finally a legit 2-3 deep at each position. Of course it remains to be seen how on paper translates to the court...we've all been excited by rosters before, let's hope we finally meet or exceed expectations this year

    Yes..me...I am.
We've never had this number of quality ballhandlers and big men at once.

Team has some depth and talent! Looking like a tournament team with some time in the top 25 this season.

Same here. Enjoying baseball for now but I don't have high expectations for football.

Agree - maybe if we had just one more decent QB, but alas o_O. In contrast, hoops is looking promising.

It's also been ages since we had this many good perimeter shooters.

    Any feeling about defense?

I think we'll be also better on defense, although we were pretty good on D after the first 8 or so games (when we were awful on D). Good, at least until CC went down. After that, we couldn't stop anyone in the paint, and that, as they say, was all she wrote.

To add a bit more about this season's defense, we might also struggle there early again because we have so many newcomers. It takes a while for everyone to learn a new system and get on the same page. But we'll have a big team and will rack up a lot of shot blocks. We won't give up a bunch of open looks.

I will be curious to see if the defense changes approaches depending on who is on the floor

For example, will they funnel middle when Handlogten is the 5 vs funnel outside when Samuel/Simmy/etc are the 5?

The length and athleticism out front of Pullin, Richard, Kugel, et al should lend itself to playing some sort of steering defense.

We're fanatical enough to spend time posting on a message board all year long, so I freakin' hope so!

No, I am afraid I need more time for the season to start.

I decided to go with wearing my old "40-0" shirt instead of buying a new, larger one. I need a couple of months to lose the weight to fit in the old one. I will let you know when I reach my goal.

Cautiously optimistic. I thought we upgraded big time last year and the Gators promptly went 1 game under .500.

BUTTTT - Talent evaluators say that the "talent" of what left (transfers) vs what is coming (transfers) is a serious upgrade.
Our transfer class is rated as high as #4 by some services.

As planet has stated, will they mesh?

All the parts seem to be there now with the latest pickup.

I'm just confused as to whom will get PT and who won't.

Riley seems the safest bet from last year. Kid looks like an NBA draft type player from my observations.

I am enjoying the current UF baseball run, but that will be over soon. Then the dog days of summer. I'm afraid MLB does not do much for me until the playoffs.

Love the fall with football and basketball, but to be fair, spring and summer sports are the strengths of UF athletics at the moment.

I met Coach Golden last night at a Speakers Tour in Pinellas County. The man is full of energy and his new nickname is “Portal God Todd.” This team is going to grow and get better so yes hoops looks to be very promising under his leadership.

Do we know when everyone is gonna show up on campus? The earlier the better to help the team get used to playing with one another.
