MOOAARRR, and no weather breaks. I want all pitchers at 100+ pitches.

 

First- let's close it out tomorrow afternoon and rest our pitchers for the finals.
Second- hope that all three teams in Bracket #2 are forced to use all of their top pitchers. Whoever plays Wake on Wednesday-- root for them to win and keep that bracket going. I give LSU the edge over Vols and think LSU would likely have the better chance to beat Wake if they throw Skenes Wed- and I think they will in a do or die game. Also, if LSU makes the finals, Skenes would be ready to come back for game 2 or 3 on the weekend.

 

Don't know if it has been brought up in the threads, but the play against ORU where BT shook off the pitch call and then had Waldrep throw to first and catch the runner, was genius.

 

On Umpires: plate umpiring has been among the most inconsistent and downright poor that I've seen. Calf high strike zones and with aces like Skenes anything near the plate called strikes. On the flip side: worse call yet was the perfect strike three called a ball on Stanford pitcher in the Wake-Stanford game Saturday that facilitated the Wake comeback in the 8th. That call changed the outcome.

Still having Cox problems but the end is sight. Watched Wake v LSU at Hogen's Heroes last night.

I feel for you, man. We had Cox when we first moved to Ocala in 1998 and the cable reception got so bad in the evenings you couldn't watch half the channels. And their customer service was so bad, they would never get it fixed right. So we dropped them in 2002 and I swore we would never do business with them again. Hogan's makes some of the best sandwiches on the planet. Have eaten there many, many times over the years.

 

Don't think they'd pitch him tomorrow on 3 days rest after throwing 120 pitches. Probably throw him Thursday though if they win

 

Don’t disagree but you’re gonna go with Johnny Wholestaff over Skenes in an elimination game? Can’t think about tomorrow if there’s no tomorrow with a loss.

 

Skenes won't be at 100% though. He's also a lock top 3 pick so doubt coach would jeopardize that, I think Tennessee beats em tonight anyways. We shall see

Skenes threw 40 pitches over 100 mph as well which is an even longer recovery than a soft throwing lefty would be. I don't think there's any chance at all that he would pitch Wednesday

 

Not all head coaches are like Sully.

 

TCU up 6-1 top of the 6th. If we end up playing the Horned Frogs, they could go back to their ace Kole Klecker. He threw 5 innings, 87 pitches in their Friday loss to ORU.

 

I was just postulating this on the game thread. Throw every pitcher on the staff in this game except the #1 or #2 guy and have them ready for tomorrow. Pretty smart.

We better be ready.

I'm not happy at all with our run production so far - we need to get going on that part of it. I don't care how we do it - that's someone else's pay grade.

Cannot emphasize enough how important this is for our game tomorrow.

It's NOT going to be no freaking same old same old walk in the freaking park. It's going to be a BATTLE!

 

That's exactly what I thought when I saw Skenes pitch count. 120+ is ridiculous!

 

It looks like the loss to the Gators took all the fight out of ORU. Or... TCU is really freaking good.

 

They absolutely destroyed Arkansas' pitching staff in Fayetteville.
