The Komodo analysis of insurance claims found 56 genital surgeries among patients ages 13 to 17 with a prior gender dysphoria diagnosis from 2019 to 2021. Among teens, “top surgery” to remove breasts is more common. In the three years ending in 2021, at least 776 mastectomies were performed in the United States on patients ages 13 to 17 with a gender dysphoria diagnosis, according to Komodo’s data analysis of insurance claims. This tally does not include procedures that were paid for out of pocket.

We identified 7,905 transgender patients, 1,047 of which underwent surgical procedures from 2009 to 2015. Our demographic results were consistent with previous survey-based studies, suggesting transgender patients are on average young adults (average age = 29.8), and geographically diverse.

 

But it’s ok don’t worry. Despite the 700 or so mastectomy’s most people are going the other way. 365000 breast augmentations a year in this country lol.

Answer a simple question: Does sexual reassignment surgeries benefit the patients, on the whole?

Show us how more ignorant and cruel you can be.

 

Obviously, there's plenty of reasons to oppose or seriously question gender reassignment at younger ages. But if adults want to do it, why does anyone else care? It's their lives, their genitalia.

 

I am currently watching the umbrella academy on Netflix. I like the way Ellen/Elliot Pages family handled the news that she/he was now Victor. Someone complimented the new haircut and used the characters dead name. He corrected them. Every one looked confused for a couple of minutes and then just went that’s cool and asked how he was doing.

 

So it was 170 a year in the early 2010s so let’s say it’s 250 a year now. I wonder how many of those are xxy?

 

only 56 genital surgeries among children 2019-2021. It’s a made up issue. Hormone therapy much more prevalent and that is much more reversible and even then we’re only talking in the thousands.

Agree. If you want to mutilate your body once you turn 18, then that's your choice. Don't think it's right to give puberty blockers or do any Trans surgeries on minors though. Think that is what the original poster discussed.

Just don’t call it healthcare and make insurance companies pay for it. It should be elective surgery. If someone want to cut off their pecker, they can write the check.
