Softball Transfer Portal

Can't use the "we're so young" excuse if you bring in transfers.

 

Britton Rogers, junior RHP with 2 years of eligibility left, has entered the portal from Georgia. She was buried in the depth chart in Athens and only threw 2.2 innings this past season. She's originally from Texas.

 

I remember everybody being really excited about her at UGA but she never clicked I guess.

 

Stanford P Alana Vawter has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer. An All-American in 2023 and a 3-time All-PAC 12 honoree, Vawter's career numbers include a 1.75 career ERA, 77 wins, a .220 opponent's batting average, & 527 strikeouts.

Orrrrrr she could come here? Walton loves grad transfers and academics are obviously important for her to come from Stanford. Food for thought.... she's very close to her pitching coach Tori Nyberg. What if that's our new pitching coach?

 

Walton loves grad transfers who are on campus for graduate work and who might as well get a uniform because there's nobody else. At least as pitchers go. Neither was a typical portal transfer. Pal was....a mid-level at best. If Vawter doesn't end up at OU in a couple days I'll eat my computer.

 

Have a little optimism. She is from the Midwest though i believe so wouldnt be shocked about OU, but idk I have a feeling we may land her.

Perhaps she wants to go to Vet School which would at least give some hope. Narrows down the field.

 

Walton has to pull the trigger on one of these reliable veteran pitchers. Can't be left holding the bag like last year. Of course not naming a pitching coach doesn't help.

 

well this is definitely the one you want. And like I said this could mean Nyberg is coming to us. You know she was probably on Waltons radar after the super regional.

 

Anyone know what grad program she is looking for? It probably eliminates some of the regular transfer portal locales.

 

Probably whatever one she can qualify for at Oklahoma.

 

Wisconsin P Paytn Monticelli is entering the transfer portal, she announced. As a freshman in 2023, Monticelli posted a 2.71 ERA, a .235 opponent's batting average, and 82 strikeouts in 80 innings of work.

And the hits just keep coming.

 

Sophia Nugent is still in the portal. Maybe we have a shot at landing her.

 

Why in the world does any of this, pitcher or coach, have anything to do with us??????? If you know something you aren't saying, then spill it. Otherwise.....
