I'm also disappointed things worked out the way they did, just like many others. The kid appears to be a real talent, no doubt about it. But respectfully, you've got it ass-backwards on your who "missed out" assertion - particularly if daddy's comments reflect the "mindset" in that "camp." Throw in the last-second holdup attempt, along with the unabashed fear of the strength of competition in '24 and a QB room featuring DJ Lagway, and I would say we dodged a bullet. With the way it went down (crazy $$$ demands, job for daddy, etc.), and the destination he chose, I just hope the door didn't hit him in the ass on the way out. Birds of a feather...
I love how personal some of you take any criticism of this program. Put your big boy pants on and accept that some people see things differently. Grown middle aged adults that can’t handle criticism sounds like a personal problem
You always complain and have constant negativity but never show up and be happy for a great night like last night. Maybe your answer is in the mirror.
Because great recruiting days at Florida should be the standard? I’m thrilled for yesterday. However I’m also concerned why we keep having some of the same repeated issues as well. Also I have a life outside the internet. It’s not my fault you can’t handle criticism. Maybe you’re the one that needs to look in a mirror
I assume you're explaining the facts of life to one of the inveterate momos I've banished to the cornfield for saying too many stupid/trollish things. Keep up the good work.
I'm just going to leave this here... Matt Corral expresses regret over choosing Ole Miss: 'I took the easy way out'
Probably regrets going to a QB friendly offense that was not prostyle. Does not help him in the pros. Went somewhere to start rather than learn. Look at all the highly ranked QBs that Lane has worked with and no one has had NFL success. UF has had Trask and AR drafted higher in the last 3 years than any QB Lane had at Ole Miss, FIU or Bama. Matt Corral was drafted in the 3rd round. Lot of lost money for a recruit to consider. Look what Lane did to JaMarcus Russell after he was drafted by Raiders. Complete bust. Lane could not develop talent look below what Lane and Ole Miss said about their QB room in January 2023 and then look at lies he later told the Simmons family. A man that lies to his wife can lie to anyone. Al Davis, NFL owner and HOFer saw right through Lane to the dishonest human being he was. Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss QB room one of best in country as Jaxson Dart, Spencer Sanders and Walker Howard compete for the job - The Rebel Walk
There is no quote from Lane Kiffin in your linked article that I can see. Are you attempting to attribute the author's opinion to Kiffin?
Lane was the HC that recruited Matt to Ole Miss and Matt said he regretted going to Ole Miss. State population is small as well. No comparative ability to build brand recognition after graduation. Academic ranking of school is extremely low. Anyone can get in.
Kiffin did not recruit Corral to Ole Miss. Corral's freshman year was 2018. Kiffin did not get their until 2020.
By and large you don't appear to understand the nuances and big picture of recruiting, yet are always one of the first to breathlessly run here and bash the staff. So as far as handling criticism and looking in mirrors.....maybe listen to your own advice.
It doesn't much matter when who arrived where. The fact that Corral said what he said - AFTER THE FACT is self-explanatory. He says he regretted going to UM and he has no reason to lie now. Although to be fair to MC, he was somewhat forced to make a move under duress due to the laziness/stubbornness/colossal ego of a certain former HC who will go unnamed. The underlying point is that Kiffin is the reigning emperor of the doosh-monkey universe, and even QBs who did pretty well under his guidance don't necessarily go around singing his praises. I will also say though that daddy found the right folks to fulfill his purposes and promote his interests and concerns. I'm reminded of the thieves dividing Scrooge's valuables and bed clothes; they are indeed "well met."
