It sucks but if money is it, we don’t probably plan on paying two high dollar qbs and Lagway is the man.
I think he still wants to go to Florida. Let Ole Miss foot the bill and training this year and we can get him to transfer here next year.
He committed to come in ‘25. I think everyone has known for a while that him waiting that long was unlikely, so he was never really coming when he said he was. I thought he was either coming here in ‘23 or somwhere else in ‘24. This move makes little sense to me. Ole Miss qb room is loaded. We definitely could have used a hs qb in this class, but oh well. Gator bait! *If the numbers being reported are even close, I definitely didn’t want him in this class that badly.
Just don’t understand the joining QB situation at Ole Miss Vs here. I’m sure Lane is better for QBs than Napier but damn their room is very very full
That is probably why a lot of people at thinking $$. Maybe Baseball and stipulations came into play also? Who knows. However, a lot of these supposed insiders that said he was coming to UF have shit on their face.
Just stop. Another greedy Rashada type. For those who haven’t figured this out yet, NIL is destroying college football before our eyes. This is not Napier’s fault, and given what we’re hearing I’m glad UF is not looking at this like an auction. After the bullshit of the last week, I don’t want that f*cling kid or his greedy ass father anywhere near UF. And Lame Kiffin is as big a douche as he ever was
It has nothing to do with the QB room or a Lane vs Billy thing. If the decision was based on the coaching staff he would be at UF right now. A few others have mentioned it and they’re not wrong.
Four-star 2025 QB Austin Simmons flips from Florida to Ole Miss, plans to join Rebels ahead of 2023 season
There are a lot of ways the wheat is separated from the tares. Depth of character, skill, potential, and now, of course, motive$. I’m glad the drama is over; and I’m glad the Gators have their future qb in DJ Lagway…who so far, at least, checks all the “wheat” and not “tares” boxes.
He was important from a competitive standpoint. For as talented as we hope DJ is, I’m still not a huge fan of given a freshman the pressure on day 1. Not that it can’t be or hasn’t been done and DJ has shown more maturity than others. Still like the competition
That’s what I was thinking, admissions seems to cost us a recruit or two. Prior to Napier they commit and can’t make it in.
