Absolutely. Bases loaded - you gotta let the kid put one out so we get one run. As long as you don't hit a grounder for a potential DP it is good.
I already said it some games ago, but even with the shortcomings, this team has heart and guts when it's on the line. This was a huge, must win. They nailed it!
I am now officially 3 years older than when the game started . . . but it was worth it! Back at it on Sunday. The two come-back teams duke it out.
I think that today has proven, through both games, that you can indeed hit it out of this ballpark. I can only listen to the game, therefore, can't wait until people start posting the big hits on twitter and on here.
I obviously don't know much about UVA's pitching situation, but leaving in Tall Dude to give up the lead, then letting him pitch you into a bases loaded situation, then bringing in your apparently discombobulated closer to try and escape that situation...doesn't seem like the best strategy.
That coach has been right all season long as UVA hadn't given up a 9th inning lead this year. Glad this call bit him in the butt.
